  • Broncos watch animal kill videos once a week to inspire the defense.

I read this last week and I thought it was pretty dumb then. I completely forgot about reading this article as I was yelling for Del Rio to blitz and plead for him to move Miller and Ware around like he did against KC. I'm not sure what other NFL coaches do to motivate defensive players but this is freaking stupid!!!!!

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – It hasn’t escaped Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio that his defense has recovered just two fumbles in 10 games. So as his players gathered for their weekly “Turnover Thursday” meeting, Del Rio and his staff hit play on a video that he hoped would inspire his defense to swarm.

“We sharks coming out of the ocean attacking the seals,” Del Rio said. “That’s how we want to attack the ball.”

The shark video was just the latest installment of violent nature videos the Broncos defense has watched this season.

“It’s all aggressive animals going after animals that are not so happy about being pursued,” Del Rio said. “It’s good stuff.”

And often, it’s worked. The Broncos have the No. 5-ranked defense this season, and currently are ranked second against the run. The Broncos hadn’t allowed a 100-yard rusher until last week, when Rams rookie Tre Mason rushed for 113 yards on 29 carries.

Perhaps the shark video, then, will inspire the Denver defense before Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. (Though, here’s a question: Were there no sharks-attacking-dolphins videos available on the internet?)

If nothing else, it left an impression on Del Rio.

“I’m still thinking about whether I’m going to get back in the ocean,” Del Rio said

I would suggest that next season they watch "Coach Firing Videos" and "Player Contract Negotiation Videos" as motivation for playing well.

It's stupid and Del Rio's defense against the Colts was stupid. Looks like our coaches were fooling around and came up with a stupid gameplan. How about spending that time watching more football film, maybe designing a smarter way to cover T.Y. Hilton and put pressure on Andrew Luck?

Cam Chancellor watches game film of Sean Taylor. Our guys watch film of sharks attacking seals that can't fight back. Lol. This offseason keeps getting better and better each day with the info that's coming out.

Don't really understand this philosophy... I think I would get a bigger kick out of watching the videos of the bully getting exposed and droped due to his ignorance of heart, technique and training vs. just being big and stupid.

                Uh...

                That's weird.

How about something like winning Super Bowl, being a consistent team?

He sure didn't scheme with this kind of aggression most of the time!

                  Good riddance!

For the sake of the mods, please don't report my sig anymore. They have said it does not violate the Code of Conduct. Thanks!

I'm at a complete loss for words. I mean really seriously animal videos to professional athletes . Do coaches get drug tested ?

Maybe Sunday's gameplan was JDR's first tactical scheme as an Oakland Raider
The beatings will continue until morale improves....

Nobody would think watching the videos was stupid if the Broncos had won.

                              Give the hate a rest.
