Von Miller devours lineman, makes Broncos camp look easy

Alfred Williams said that Von Miller wouldn't be the same player coming off his 2013 knee injury, wearing a brace in 2014. 14 sacks is pretty impressive, but will we see an unstoppable 20+ sack season from Von? If last season wasn't a 100% Von Miller, along with getting his weight under control, freedom from his drug treatment program. Should be an exciting year watching Von!

Von Miller makes football look too easy.

It's not, of course. The sport features offenses with play calls longer than a Shakespearean sonnet. Defenses boast endless disguises, creating mental sandtraps for quarterbacks.

Then Miller stands across the line, and it becomes a simple game. He's faster, stronger and more talented than those looking back at him. Miller vs. an offensive lineman. It's the greatest mismatch since Little Red Riding Hood vs. the Wolf.

Contract year...traditional 3-4 defense with 3-4 DC .... I fully expect Von to have a monster year.

It's gonna be nuts. Here's to him staying injury free.

Yeah plus with Ware or Ray coming off the other end... wow, this year's defense should be something special.

Highest paid OLB in the very near future. Hopefully it is with denver but it will definitely be fun to watch.

I believe Von is going to have a very good year...maybe his best to date. 3-4 OLB is his best position, imo...however...you have to take into account who he is going against in practice....Ty Sambrailo and Ryan Harris and Chris Clark when reading this article about Von devouring linemen. It's not like he is beating Joe Thomas or Tyron Smith so easily.

How do you know what Sambrailo is going to be in 10 years?

it isn't 10 years from now is it? he has had what...10 practices in the NFL? He was getting beat by just about everyone at the seniorbowl. He very well might improve and turn out to be a very good OT but right now, he is very much a work in progress.

2009 saw Doom benefit tremendously from McDaniels change to 3-4, so there is a good chance that Von will see his numbers jump. Doom's monster year however was really a monster stretch with a long fade towards the end of the 2009 season. Defense was on fire early and Brady Quinn gift wrapped the sack record, but Wade Philips could easily prove to be a major difference maker. He has done it before!

This offensive coaching staff turned an undrafted LT in Matt Lepsis to a borderline pro bowler. Sambrailo is much more athletically gifted then Lepsis and if the coaching staff trusts that his technique can be rounded out then I trust that it can. Nobody knew Joe Thomas was going to turn into one of the best left tackles to ever play the game when he was drafted. You're already burying a guy you've never seen play with pro coaching. You're just too negative man.

I mean he is top 3 in the game right now, arguably number 1...and has been for the past 6-8 years. Plus he was drafted number 3 overall, so there were SOME expectations he was going to turn out great...but one of the best LT's to every play the game...quite the hyperbolic statement if you ask me.

burying a guy? not a chance. TY is a rookie with 10 practices in the NFL going against a guy who may be the best 3-4 OLB in the league. You don't think the vet OLB has a slight advantage over the rookie? They may turn Sambrailo into one of the top LT in the league, but they haven't done it in 10 practices....get real.

The article posted even states it...Von Miller devours linemen and makes camp look easy....If Ty was already so great...how could that be happening? I didn't say TY would never get there. I said he wasn't there now. Why do you find that such a horribly unjust statement???

This is exciting stuff and much anticipated given his past transgressions, but if he is having as easy a time as is being reported, what does that say about the status of the O-line??

As it stands right now we are starting to rookies at LT n LG, that in itself is reason to worry. Hopefully they learn quick from our pass rushers.

As far as Von, unless they are moving him around quite frequently, he should be facing Ryan Harris more often than not.
