I'm amazed he wasn't fired right after the season ended because our injuries absolutely ballooned after he took over in 2018 with 2023 setting a team record, I think? Thank God he's gone and GOOD RIDDANCE!
Here's to a year of better health for this team!

As far as Landow being the/a problem; I think it is somewhat difficult to determine cause and effect in regards to Landow being the cause of injuries, there certainly could be some other causes for the injuries, including bad luck or maybe lack of preparation in the preseason (Rams had a bad season of injuries too). Hopefully the odds will be with the Broncos in 2023 since they have had a lot of injuries from last season. When looking at where the Broncos "rank" on the amount of injuries over the last few seasons they are not the worst but are in the top half; maybe the top 10?sigpic

It’s typical human behavior though. We find a reason to complain about just about anything.
I’ve never been one to blame the strength and conditioning coach for injuries. It’s football. Injuries happen. I think we would be hard pressed to prove one coach is better at preventing injuries than another. You're Wrong!

Analyzing injuries during Landow's tenure would need: 1) when injuries occurred (i.e., Spring, Summer, TC/preseason, in-season); 2) pre-Denver injury history of each player and how acquired; 3) all injuries classified by type, severity and recovery time; and, 4) number of starters (including STs) on IR each year.
Hackett's time introduced some non-standard practices that could have exacerbated any possible deficiencies (e.g., not playing starters in preseason games, not using full allotment of padded practices in-season)
P.S. Lifting programs should be individualized and varied/phased. Conditioning includes a graduated running program with Speed-School, but can also include plyometrics, medicine ball and mat drills especially during preseason and cone drills/agilities in-season. Water/Gatorade should be available and consumed during all activities. Each session of any kind should be preceded by extensive stretching, and flexibility needs to be an integral part of any strength and conditioning program. All activities can be made fun by cleverly designing them to include competition turning each into a kind of game.Last edited by samparnell; 03-05-2023, 01:18 PM."Stultum est timere quod vitare non potes." ~ Publilius Syrus

I know doing HS sports and even college there is a lot of organized training and conditioning.
How much of training in the NFL is actually "organized" and "if you want to do it here it is"
I am one of those people who show up to games early. I like the check out the stadium before the game. Also like to watch players. Not all players seem to follow the same path in pre--game stretching and pre-game prep.
Have seen some practices and it feels the same. Do whatever the player wants. This combined with overall lesser organized practices and lesser amount of padded practices means the rules from collective bargaining have limited what teams can do more than years ago.
Then like Sam mentioned maybe we have a coaching staff who does even less.
My point is can have the greatest training and conditioning available on the planet but if the players do not take advantage then the lack of conditioning is on the players.Skill + Effort = Talent. Talent + Effort = Achievement. A. Duckworth - Grit.
