  • NFL Draft Countdown updated.

    It has us getting
    1st- Demarcus Ware
    2nd- Jason Campbell
    3rd(1)- Vincent Jackson
    3rd(2)- Johnathan Welsh

I don't understand why we would need another LB in Johnathan Welsh? But hey, Vincent Jackson, Jason Campbell, and Demarcus Ware... That's a great first day! Although I would much rather take a CB in the second, but Campbell is just fine!

not in a million years will that mock happen. If Vincent Jackson falls to the 3rd round to the Broncos they would be ecstatic, he may go late 1st. Also, Campbell has nearly worked his way into a 1st round possibility.

I don't put much weight into nfldraftcountdown.com Now I put even less. Thanks for the update though. It'd be a nice dream and all.

Yea, LB does seem like a huge need for us, that we should address in the first round..

Vincent Jackson had a great combine. But he still didn't have a pro day. And, you also have throw in the fact that Northern Colorado is a no-name school. Meaning, he didn't really have any compition.

He will fall to the 3rd. But i'd take away Campbell, take Jackson in the 2nd, and get Adrian McPherson with the 1st 3rd.

small school or not, Vincent Jackson will not go in the 3rd round. I wish he would, but there is too much interest from teams currently.

Because he's a great pass rushing DE. All he needs to do is add about 20 pounds and he'll be one of the best.

Vincent Jackson has intrest but as of now, all the teams that need a WR are intrested in other WRs.

                Braylon Edwards
                Mike Williams
                Mark Clayton
                Troy Williamson
and even Chris Henry may be taken before him.

He'll defently fall back to #56.

He's 250 pounds...gaining 20 pounds would be very difficult, and it would only bring him up to 270....face it dude, this guys a LB in the pro's...MAYBE a DE in the 4-3...

He has great speed but is probably better suited to play linebacker because of his speed. A scouting report I read on him said if he plays as DE he would project as pass rush specialist.
                    John 11: 25-27

                    My Adopt-A-Bronco is D.J. Williams

                    Thanks Snk16

and Roddy White, Fred Gibson, Reggie Brown, Terrence Murphy, Mark Bradley, Jerome Mathis, and maybe Matt Jones...

i definatly see him falling to the 3rd or 4th round....

Pittsburgh is very interested in Jackson for pick #30, Denver likely would be interested at 56. His combine has better measurables than Mike Williams in almost all areas. Jackson has the highest wonderlic test score of any WR by 6 or 7 points, a test that Shanahan values very highly. Pittsburgh is looking at him as a TE/WR tweener. A new big target to replace Plax for Roethlisberger. I don't see him falling out of the 2nd at all.

                          V. Jackson

This is why we'd be lucky to get him that late in the 2nd, his stock has taken off since the combine.

                          Mike Williams: 6'5", 229, 4.57/40 , 2.7/20 , 1.66/10 , Wonderlic= 20

                          Vincent Jackson: 6'5", 241, 4.56/40, 2.63/20, 1.57/10, Wonderlic= 33

Mike Williams' speed for his size has caused his stock to rise high enough that Tampa may have to trade up from 5 just to get him if they choose that route over RB.
Vincent Jackson measures up in everything except big time competition. But Williams did not even play last year. No question Williams is the better prospect. But Vincent Jackson's stock has heightened to rumors of high second round or early first because of the buzz created in Indy. An interesting side note, besides having the size Shanahan covets at receiver, Jackson scored a 33 on his wonderlic test. 6 points higher than the next highest score among WR's. There are few coaches in the league who look as heavily at the wonderlic as M. Shanahan.

Stop preaching your Vincent Jackson "he's gonna go in the first round" BS -- it's not going to happen. He's not even close.
