1st round pick: Erasmus James, DE, Wisconsin
Unbelievable ability to get to the QB, never quits, very physical. These would be the words to describe Wisconsins Erasmus James. Erasmus was a very productive and looked like an all-pro as a senior. We lack pass rush, and wether Courtney Brown signs or not. Wether we get 1 pass rush DE, it's still going to leave another man struggling against the offensive tackle, the offensive line he is trying to penetrate. If this guy, some say is the best DE in the draft, falls back to #25, put your money on him being a Bronco next year.

2nd round pick: Vincent Jackson, WR, North Colorado
Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, and Vincent Jackson? Vincent Jacksons size would put defensive backs on their tip toes to try to knock a pass down that is thrown to this guy. He has very effective speed and is a playmaker. With him coming out of a Colorado school, and Rod Smith ageing- turning 35, I wouldn't doubt that this guy would be on Shannys top 5 big board. Even though Vincent Jackson could be a 3rd round pick, if he is there come #56, he will be taken that pick!

3rd round pick: Adrian McPherson, QB, Flordia St.
This boy dominated the arena league, proving that he can be a reliable starter in the NFL. He has a very, very strong arm, very mobile. And this would be a perfect fit for the Broncos. He is very physical, and will keep defenses on their feet. He would be a great backup and a future starter in the NFL, and i'd love to see him be a Bronco next season.

3rd round pick: Michael Munoz, OT, Tennessee
Our tackle, Matt Lepsis, is getting older now, and it's time for a replacment. We don't have Alex Gibbs anymore and we can't just throw anyone in there. Michael Munoz shows the attitude of a Bronco linemen and can move like a Bronco linemen. He would be a great backup until Matt Lepsis contract expires, he retires, or gets injured. I wouldn't doubt seeing him picked up next month by the Broncos.

He played safety in college and was just amazing. I don't know if you think college is full of unproven stars, even if it is, if LeSueur plays like he did in Michigan, we may have the best cover safety in the NFL on our roster!

He's a great player, but his injuries really shy me away from him. I think he probably goes down to a team like the Vikings or Seahawks.

Is a playmaker? He's terrible after the catch and runs sloppy routes, I wouldn't call him a playmaker -- the only reason he had as high of numbers as he did is the poor people he played against while being on Northern Colorado and him being the main target on the squad. I do agree that his size would be a huge asset, but he could be too big to play wide out in the pros. He has a lot to work on and would be a huge risk. I don't know what the Owens and Moss comparisions are for, perhaps size? Because I seriously doubt Jackson will ever become half the player they are.

I'd like that pick as well, but I think he does go to a team like the Cardinals with their last pick in the third round, perhaps another team in the third who is looking to take a risk on a young gun like McPherson. I like this pick, but I think he might be gone before then. If you're so high on our offense, Quarterback should be the least of our worries, unless you're saying for a compensatory pick -- he's worth the look.

Michael Munoz doesn't have an attitude, he has no swagger and intimidates absolutely nobody. He isn't dominating and it'd be a waste of a pick. Since there are a lot of teams with needs at OT, I seriously doubt he's there. A better pick in this situation is CJ Brooks, Colquitt or a member of our secondary.

I'm high on the offense, but if you look at our offense, it is ageing. Plummer is closeing in on 30, our o-line is ageing, Smith is going to retire next offseason most likely, and the only thing that looks promising(Future) is the backfield. I would love to have McPherson as our starter in 5-6 years!

McPherson is definitely an interesting prospect. If he's there I agree he's worth the shot.

Foster, Hamilton and Carlisle as our starters in the next two years will still be young. Not to mention Alexander and Clabo; I don't know what to think of either of them, but that's youth. Nalen and Lepsis are the only "older" guys on our offensive line. The problem with our line isn't youth, it's depth and quality to be able to play their positions effectively.

Rod Smith is going to retire after next year and if we don't address it this draft; I think we'll go after a big name in free agency to take his place. I'm not too sure who all will be up in next years FA at WR but I can only guess there will be talent there as well. I think it's safer to go after a WR in FA anyways. Drafting a WR and developing them into a star is hard to do these days.

I don't think our backfield is that promising. If Bell can keep healthy, if we keep Droughns and Johnson turns into a throw-back fullback and continues to do well we're fine. Griffin and Anderson aren't worth the cap casualty and we'd be much better off drafting youth in the coming years.

I'm still interested in Chris Spencer as a C/G from Ole Miss in Round II. Other players I'd like to see here would be, Louis Castillo, CJ Mosley, Ernest Shazor (whose stock is falling because of his OLB/S uncertainty) Mark Bradley, Alex Smith or perhaps Bryant McFadden.

I have mixed feelings about our compensatory picks; I just think it's impossible for us to go wrong, but I wouldn't doubt if we did.

I agree with you strongly on some of your prospects, the one in specific I'd like to watch the most as our picks come up is B. McFadden. He has been slipping consistenly over the last few months and could be a steal if he slips far enough. The Eagles are the exact team I believe we should be looking to. I actually posted a thread on it earlier today. Dropping to 31 would be an ideal place to land Patterson or if he's gone, Luis Castillo. Far better long term picks for us than reaching for a pick with 25. I have tremendous respect for what Pete Carroll has gone out of his way to say about Patterson.

I like Micheal Munoz at OT. He is a tremendous player with excellent technique. If it wasn't for his injuries, he would be a top draft pick. Christ, his dad, the best OT ever, has been grooming him since he was born and it shows.

I am extremely high on Munoz and think he'd be a great pick if he's still around at the end of the 3rd.

Same with McPherson, though I am high on Mauck.


Vincent Jackson is going to be a TE in the pros most likely, that's what he's been getting a lot of play as. A Shannon Sharpe type. With Putzier, who is the same type of hybrid player, Jackson is not really a need. I am very high on him however.


I'm not down with Erasmus James. The injury bug has bitten us way too many times to be ignored. I would not take Shaun Cody (back), Erasmus James (hip), Marcus Spears (knee), or Dan Cody (mental) because of prior injuries. The draft is such a crapshoot anyway, why add to the risk factor.
