The 49ers signed Marques Douglas today for 3 years at 4.5 million. Not a big contract by any means. Did we miss the boat here? This guys has not had the injury problems and is young and solid and this money is really cheap. I know he doesnt' have the pass rush upside of Brown, Ekuban, and Pryce but I can't help but think it might have helped to have one solid guy that doesn't have the injury concerns.

i think we didnt really consider him just because he played in the 3-4

a lot of people thought he had the ability to be a good 4-3 DE but its not proven
correct me but i think the 49ers are going to a 3-4 since mike nolan was a baltimore guy, so he'll be a good piece of the 3 man front for them

I think we totally missed the boat maybe even the water. Right now almost all of our linemen have question marks. It would have been nice to have someone injury free.

Do you have a link to this signing?

Personally, I would have preferred him over Brown. I know Brown has more "upside" but he's still a big risk. Douglas would have given us a very good run defender and we could have drafted for the pass rush specialist.

But perhaps the Broncos' staff saw something they didn't like. Who knows?

ya lol, we have more than enough D-Line, even if 4 all our signings got injured we would still have more DL. That wont happen though, Shanahan did this so he would have to draft a D-Line in the draft. I think we are gona get a CB in the 1st and Vincent Jackson in the 2nd. VJ has HUGE potential!
