  • DBfan4lyfe gave me the light of our trade!

He convinced me that it was a great trade... heres why....

Washington is already having troubles with holdouts and stuff like that...
they are not that much of a developed team yet.....
    touph division..
next years draft class is stronger( i hope)

so that gets me less furious then i was when i first found out.......

now i dont feel like throwing sumthing.... i havent been on the boards since like sunday so i dont know too much about what has been happening in the world of football
    Go Broncos, Lakers, Angels!

Well the beauty of this trade is that talent level in this draft is almost exactly the same from the end of round 1 to the early part of round three. So our staff didnt see any reason to keep a first rounder so we took extra picks from them and will now be able to draft excellent value players like the Pats have become famous for.

Plus, the first pick next yr will be great because look at what happened to the skins. They lost their top 2 defensive players in Pierce and Smoot. Springs and Arrington are always injured, they don't have any playmakers along the defensive line, Sean Taylor is a malcontent and perennially in legal trouble, Portis isn't happy out there, they lost their top receiver in coles and are trying to get rid of their #2 in gardner. Add all that to the fact that they have no viable QB and Gibbs system doesnt work in the NFL and you've got yourself a potential top 10 pick next yr.

Rumor has it that the Skins plan on drafting pac-man with their first pick who could have an impact on D but not much, and then with our pick, take Campbell who will make just about no impact at all this season.

Tjeir D is all ready top five so any rookie would have little to NO impact. They need WR and decent QB. Not to mention a Gm that is not stupid. Mikey got hem twice in TWO years.

their D might drop off a little due to them losing a couple of key guys, so it might not be as good as they were last year

and also they need to get a real owner, dan snyder is a joke

That's not exactly right. We trade out of this year's first round because the picks from about 20 on down through the 2nd round grade so its matter of value.

They are same in that they are both arrogant. But Jones has the understanding of building a team through draft Danny boy imo hasn't shown that he understands that aspect.

Actually this is a very pessimistic view of the Redskins chances this season. Joe Gibbs is a very good coach who will quickly stomp on any players who get out of line. He has the team believing in themselves and their coaches and positive about the season. They might not be a very talented team this season, that remains to be seen, but they will play hard and play together. And anyone who deviates from that will sit or be gone!

As for the trade: The Skins are trying to package their #9 pick, plus the #25 pick they got from the Broncos to move up into the top 4 picks -- in the hopes of drafting Bralyon Edwards. They have already contacted all 4 top teams in hopes of engineering a trade according to the reports.

Speculation is that they don't have enough ammunition to pull off a trade like that and that the top 4 teams will want more than the #9 and #25 pick in return for a top 4 pick.

I have no idea if that assessment is true, but the Redskins are trying hard to trade up.

THAT'S why they made the trade with the Broncos! If they are successful they get maybe the most talented player in the draft and a future impact player at WR.

On the other hand, receiver is a tough position to come in and have an impact. Many top receivers take a couple of seasons to really blossom. Will Edwards be able to learn the offense and will Ramsey develop the confidence in him to throw him the ball consistently?

I think the immediate impact would be greater if the Skins stay at #9 and draft a top LB, DL or DB. A RB would have the greatest immediate impact, but the Skins don't need one since they have Portis.

We don't care if the Skins are good in 2006, they can go to the SB that year for all we care! We just need them to suck THIS year!

Not so sure about jerry is that smart if it had not been for Jimmy J they'd been major screwed. He tried buying talent after he left and most of it was has beens or never gonna bees. He is a business man that was smart enough to get a really good coach in the begining and now with Bill but in between he sucked. Look at his choices

With a few exceptions a true list of where are they now.

I live down if cowgirl country and am feed a constant line of crap about how wonderful they are, so many bandwagoneers here about them. Good year and all the flags, caps, sweats, jackets come out bad years and never to be seen.

danny is just a junior al and jerry just has not figured out yet that money does not solve all the problems in most cases all it does is bring in MORE HEAD CASES.

...yeah... Moss, Taylor, and Arrington sure do seem scared of old Gibbs.. They're believing in next years team so much they're badmouthing them to the press, holding out, and asking for time away from football.

they lost their top corner, two top recievers, starting MLB, and haven't upgraded a ****ty offensive line.

I think you're thinking of Gibbs from a long time ago, cause he ain't striking fear in anyone these days.
