It sounded to me like he thought DJ was one of our new cbs. My guess is that he got DJ and Darrent mixed up.

I just think he said DJ when he meant Darrent. I did much the same thing the other day: I referred to D.J. Williams as B.J. Williams. Either a brain fart or my finger took the wrong turn on the keyboard.

We didn't have success with drafting WRs as return specialists (Cole, Haygood, Luke). Hope it reverses for Darrent.

Eh we all have 'finger cramps' every once in awhile.......

ST always gets mentioned, when asked what the most important aspects are, in the NFL. Hopefully, 2005 is the year in which this are stops being the downfall for the team.

Absolutely RC. Special Teams and winning the turnover battle will win couple games for you every year.

absolutely, if your returner breaks one for a TD it changes the the outlook on the game greatly

imagine if the first KR went back for a TD, that would throw a spanner in the works for the losing team

and a few teams have shown that with a good ST, you can offset a less talented D or a less talented offense

If we do not improve on special teams, we will not win the Division--again. Bottom line. It's going to be awfully tough winning it, anyway, but IMO a failure to do that will assure a failure in that quest.

Even with improved Special Teams we don't have any guarantees that we'll win the divison. However, I do like our chances whole lot better with strong ST support than without it.

At least 5 of the 6 rookies were drafted with ST's in mind. Williams is of course a return man, while all 3 CB's can be gunners. Chris Meyers has long snapping experience, I believe. Even if the new punter makes it only as a kickoff specialist, he can boom them into tomorrow. In fact, Clarett said he will play special teams if asked.

Well, he'll be asked; you can count on that. If rookies can't contribute to special teams, they won't be there long enough to play anywhere else. That's their policy.
