  • Getting ready for a top five 2006 draft pick?

    From KFFL:

MIAMI (Ticker) - Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor reportedly was arrested Saturday night and charged with a felony count of aggravated assault with a firearm as well as simple assault.

According to numerous reports, Taylor turned himself into Miami-Dade County Police at 10 p.m. EDT. The Miami Herald reported Taylor turned himself in, accompanied by his lawyer, and was taken to Turner Guilford Knight correctional facility

"We have just been made aware of a potential situation in Miami regarding Sean Taylor," the Redskins said in a statement Saturday night. "The representatives for Taylor are keeping us informed as to the developments of the situation. There is nothing we can add to the process at this time."

Taylor, 22, had been called a "person of interest" since Friday in what the Washington Post reported on its website was a case involving a stolen car on Wednesday.

A public information officer for the Miami-Dade County Police Department told The Post that shots were fired into the vehicle.

The arrest is Taylor's second in the past eight months. In October, he was arrested for DUI outside of Washington, although he was later acquitted on two charges in that incident.

The fifth overall pick in 2004 out of Miami, Taylor has had his problems since entering the NFL. He has fired two sets of agents, showed up late for the NFL's rookie symposium and been accused of spitting on an opponent.

Taylor also has stayed away from the Redskins' voluntary workouts this offseason as he reportedly has been seeking a renegotiation of the seven-year, $18 million deal he signed prior to his rookie season.

A hard hitter with a nose for the ball, Taylor played in 15 games with 13 starts during his rookie campaign, collecting 76 tackles, four interceptions and a sack.

If he is guilty and processed, for sure will take the term "doing stupid things" to a new level...

LOL! I was getting ready to rip this post when I saw the thread, but this article is hilarious!

Of course, to get a top 5 pick the team can't win more than about 5 games, and it's highly unlikely that Washington will do worse than last year (6 wins only gave them a 9th overall pick and it could have been as late as 11th overall with the same record). You really have to SUCK BAD to get a top 5 pick, sucking bad (small letters) isn't enough.

But Sean Taylor sure has been on the wrong side of the law a lot in his short career!

With all that money, you'd think he'd be able to stay away from stolen cars!
Taking the best possible view of the situation (from the Redskins perspective) he was riding around in a stolen car when someone fired shots out of the vehicle.

He might avoid any charges at all if he didn't know the car was stolen and wasn't driving and wasn't involved in stealing it and he has a good lawyer. If he were living here in Colorado I could recommend several friends who could probably get him off with probation at most even if he did steal it or fire some shots in the air -- there's no indication he fired at police or hit anyone.

Hey! I can understand how it could happen.

After all not all my clients were found guilty after being caught driving around drunk with a concealed weapon in violation of their felony parole! Stuff like that happens in the NFL!

        It's just that . . . . well . . . . poor Redskins.
Everything that could go wrong seems to be going wrong for them.

They also got 3 days of off season practices canceled by the league for being too physical in offseason workouts.

Seriously, what is up with University of Miami allumni? Do they just completely expect to be celebrities when they get drafted? First Kellen Winslow, now Sean Taylor...from the same draft class too, even Shockey had some attitude problems back then. What is going on there. Maybe it warps people. Seems like we got the best one in DJ Williams.

I'm thinking its all a ploy, to get by drug-testing.
Everything he's doing sounds like something 'roiders pull.(see romo)

I just hope that all the people that were wanting denver to draft him can now shut up about it.
