Cowboys sign OL Kosier; re-sign OL Gurode

    March 11, 2006

IRVING, Texas (Ticker) - The Dallas Cowboys shored up their suspect offensive line Saturday by signing free agent tackle-guard Kyle Kosier and re-signing guard-center Andre Gurode.

Kosier received a five-year deal while Gurode inked a one-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The 27-year-old Kosier is a four-year veteran, spending three seasons with San Francisco before joining Detroit last season. The 6-5, 305-pounder played all 16 games - starting 11 - for the Lions, who allowed the fewest sacks in the league.

Kosier likely will play at tackle, which was a sore spot for Dallas, especially after former Pro Bowler Flozell Adams was lost for the season with a knee injury.

Gurode has been one of the Cowboys' most versatile lineman since being drafted in 2002. Gurode played either guard or center in 58 of 65 games, including all 16 last season.

Koren Robinson: Agrees to Three-Year Deal with Vikings

            RotoWire.com Staff - RotoWire.com
            Saturday, March 11, 2006
Update: Robinson has agreed in principle on a three-year contract to stay with the Vikings, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Recommendation: Off-field issues led to his demise in Seattle, but with the Vikings Robinson resurrected his once-promising career, catching 22 passes for 347 yards with three total touchdowns, also earning a trip to the Pro Bowl as a kickoff returner. Heading into the 2006 season, his role in the offense figures to expand, though at this point the team's QB situation remains up in the air.

worth a try, but i doubt it-- seems like a lot of people like to start their own threads more than they like to read the existing ones. . . guess it's the excitement of "breaking the story". . . good link, anyways-- thanks.

Brees to meet Dolphins; leaves Saints without deal

NEW ORLEANS -- Drew Brees visited with the New Orleans Saints Sunday, but left town without a deal.

Brees, a free agent, is being pursued by the Saints as a replacement for Aaron Brooks. He left Sunday to meet with the Miami Dolphins in Birmingham, Ala., where he has been rehabilitating his surgically repaired right shoulder. He went 20-11 the past two seasons for San Diego, but when contract talks with the Chargers stalled, they agreed to let him test the market.

Brees said New Orleans' rebuilding from Katrina would not dissuade him from coming here. He said he helped build programs in Purdue and at San Diego that had been down and that the challenge of rebuilding in New Orleans appealed to him.

"I think being a part of that would be a great opportunity," he said.

As far as his shoulder is concerned, Brees said he has about another four or five months of recovery and doesn't anticipate any long-term effects. Brees tore the labrum and damaged the rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder in the Chargers' final game last season and underwent surgery Jan. 5.

Looks like Brees is gonna be a Fin.

                            Too soon, D-Will, too soon.

If Brees goes to the Saints, that will kind of throw off the whole draft thing..unless the Saints still drafted Leinart and did to Brees what SD did to Brees.

How weird would it be if the Raiders picked him up? Freaky s**t!
