  • Yet another unknown receiver...

Here's another receiver that is on nobody's radar and on like zero draft sites:

One of the main focuses of the afternoon was wide receiver Domenik Hixon (Columbus, Ohio/Whitehall-Yearling HS), who was one of the top all-around players in the Mid-American Conference the last four seasons.

Hixon ranks No. 2 on the UA career receptions list (141) and third on the career receiving yards chart (2,092). He is also fourth on Akron's career all-purpose yardage list (3,888) and ranked among the top 20 nationally in all-purpose yardage in each of his final two seasons. Hixon was a second-team All-MAC choice in 2005 and started 44 of 48 career games (20 at free safety/24 at wide receiver).

Hixon impressed scouts with his speed and athleticism, and caught passes from former Zips' quarterback Charlie Frye. The Cleveland Browns signal-caller was the focus of last year's Pro Timing Day when 12 NFL teams showed up to the field house.

"There were a couple of things that I could have done better and hopefully I'll get another chance," Hixon said after the workout. "I just want to take this one day at a time and work hard every day. Hopefully I'll get the opportunity to continue playing football in the NFL."

Hixon posted the fastest time of the day in the 40-yard dash, being clocked at 4.36. He also had the best time in the 3-cone shuttle run, clocking a 6.65.
    Here's another story:

    Here's his player Bio:

6'2" with a 38.5" vertical and 4.3 speed, and a better cone time than I have seen listed for anybody at the combine. He was also the nation's 7th-ranked all-purpose runner (receiving, returning, etc).

Amazing how some of these guys miss the combine.

Not everyone gets invited, and not everyone drafted is an invitee.

Anyway, he sounds like a good find.

You should email these findings to Denver. You have nothing to lose.

Everybody's gotta elevate from the norm...

The greatest list of music I don't own on CD
You should check these guys out

Thanks for the links... I'm impressed with not only his physical abilities, but his personality / character as well. Could this guy be the next Rod Smith ( yes Rod was undrafted.. but this guy is virtually an unknown as well ) ?

Not as lean & Not as mean.. but damn proud to claim the title of (former) U.S. Marine
