Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

I say just sign Allen with a poison pill contract and give them our first round pick as compensation. It will take a lot of money to get him here, but the salary cap is increasing by $7 mil so that can only help.
Im growing impatient waiting for the draft and the offseason moves
Give one single good reason to spend a boatload of money on Freeney ? He's a one trick pony with a small frame, it was an awesome trick but the league has figured that spin move out. He's a liability in run support, countless times this season teams has converted 3rd and long against the Colts by running straight at him.
I'm holding my breath waiting for a single sensible answer to this question
If we could just pick one of the 3 I say Jared Allen hands down! He is playing amazing right now and he played for Idaho State. That really isn't important except that most Idahoans like the Broncos and seahawks. So there is a good chance he would like to play for the Broncos. I really feel the 3 positions we need the most help at are DE, CB, and HB. If we got a sack specialist it would improve our secondary tremendously! We need more of a power back that can hit the cutback lanes. I like Mike and he runs hard but he just is a little small to be truly effective in our running system. and Tatum,,, well I like his speed but he is tareable inside the tackles. He takes forever to hit tho hole. The only time he is good is when he can get outside and use his speed.
Btw Lord Helmet, as far as him being a one trick pony.....That is the one trick the Broncos need most! He's an elite player, quit lieing to yourself!
As I posted earlier, it seems to me that the league has figured that spin move out. Still waiting for a good reason that we should get him, in the unlikely event June gets tagged over Freeney
I read these boards a ton, don't post much at all. Of the choices given to me Jared Allen is who I picked.
as someone mentioned earlier the league knows how to contain Dwight Freeney. He's had a subpar year, not good for him in a contract year. Colts will probably slap the Franchise tag on him and thats that.
Adalius Thomas of the Ravens is a Linebacker case closed next!
Which leaves Jared Allen an RFA. Y'all honestly think the Chiefs will let Allen slip away to the Broncos? Not a chance. I'm willing to bet that the Chiefs will not only offer more than anything Denver proposes, but they also throw in a subscription to ESPN The Magazine and even let him keep the lil MP3 player
IMHO Broncos need to go after a DT in FA or as a high draft pick. Not a Defensive End. Need that guy who can stuff the run and take up some blockers.
Free Agent DT's that arent pipe dreams
Vonnie Holliday UFA Miami
Robaire Smith UFA Tennessee
Hollis Thomas UFA New Orleans
Possible 1st Round DT Draft Picks I'd be happy with
IF DT is satisfied through FA then my thoughts on where Denver needs to go in first round.
Michael Griffin S Texas - Great compliment and successor to Lynch
Levi Brown OT PSU - Need a mammoth to protect Cutler's blindside
Michael Bush RB Louisville - McGahee anyone? Woulda been top 5 if not injured.

Very much agree with almost everything posted here, I have an addition for the FA DT list: Terdell Sands from Oakland, the guy is worth a look based on size alone.
I've been trying to find out more about the "Big Terd" from Oakland, what I can tell you is that the Raiders fans sound pretty desperate about getting him re-signed. They're raving about how he's a pro bowl caliber player and widely recognized as one of the strongest players in the league, not the most agile but dominant at stuffing runners and very good at getting his arms up to deflect passes on passing downs.
No whats funny is that you're the only one mentioning Ekuban in this thread, I don't appreciate anyone putting words in my mouth. Allen is a beast right up there with Peppers and Taylor IN MY HUMBLE OPINION. I'm not saying my opinion actually matters I'm just expressing it, please go play on the freeway now.
Substitute Lang if you prefer, though he's got more sacks than Ekuban (but not more tackles; no one on our line has more tackles than Ekuban. ) Otherwise you're talking about signing a FA to be a backup, and that seems like a waste of cap space to me. You are, of course, always entitled to your own opinion with or without my consent, and I'll never question that; sorry if you felt like I was calling you out or something, I just get a little sensitive 'cos folks are always bashing ends that IMHO are pretty good. Just don't forget the famous words of the great Daniel Patrick Moynihan: "everyone's entitled to thier own opinion, but NOT their own facts.... "
SIGN RANDALL GODFREY FOR SLB AND BACKUP MLB NOW!!!
the more I wish I cared about college ball. Is he a realistic possibility? 'Cos, I gotta say (again... ) 19. Think about that. 19, and already 298 and a top prospect.
1) He's smart, or he wouldn't be a 19 year old senior.
2) He's a cheeseburger shy of 300, and I doubt seriously he's done growing.
3) He'll be 20 his rookie year. If he plays 'til he's 35 someone will have him for fifteen years. If he plays as long as Jim Marshall he'll be 38 when he retires. As a very sharp and big DT who can probably tell you all the best hotels in Honolulu, 'cos he's stayed at most of them. And maybe has a few Super Bowl Rings. Since we need a (couple) DTs I'd love to see him get 'em here....

I have nothing against our ends, would I like to see a worldclass end take over ? Of course. Do I believe that will happen ? Certainly not. But its all good, hatchet is officially buried

I can't agree with you more on your entire quote.
Miami will be having money problems this off year and Holliday SHOULD be available too! As well, I could easily be happy if Denver drafted Brown - they need another OT as all of the other experiments (Pears, Foster, Meadows) have failed.
