I think Jeff Shoate gets a call up from the practice squad... for obvious and depressing reasons...

    DL, somewhere along it.

OL, we need to build some more youth here.

Safety, We need some young safeties who can do more than just hit (Lynch) and some that don't have stone hands and can jump more than 10 mm (Ferguson.

They've been solid, but they need some youth.

We also need to stay healthy, most importantly.

I have put a lot of thought into this...more then usual after yesterday's game, which I might add showed we have more holes then anyone here likely thought.

Defensive Line: We need a good run stuffing tackle, also we need a gap pressure - pass rusher to help get in their and help the ends, safeties and backers.

Linebackers: We have too much money going out and not enough to show for it, they need to restructure and then if not they should look to trade some of the fiscal debt elsewhere - Gold in my opinion may be a casualty of the cap.

Corners: Make a decision and trade the option...Denver does not need three capable starters, Paymah is quite ready for the nickle position and Foxwoth is more suited to be a Bronco - Darrent Williams is likely trade bait after his issues this season, they may add latter round depth, but we are solid and a Fox, Champ and Paymah backfield sounds real good to me.

Safeties: We need an upgrade and I hope Denver pushes for Ken Hamilton, especially over risking a first round pick, which I believe they will try - if so Lynch will likely return to his SS position and the casualty will be Ferguson, unless he remains as depth.

Offensive Line: Awful...there may be two key losses this year: Lepsis and Nalen - either one make the line change, if Lepsis is really out, then I expect Denver to move on a free agent tackle, if he has a year or two in the tank...then they will look for a top prospect. Nalen I think is more the worry, because he was horrid this year, I think he retires and Hamilton moves to Center, which will free up the Left Guard spot for Kuper and Myers to compete for and with Carlisle on his way out I think Right Guard will become a big priority - Foster is likely gone in a trade to a more basic line team, where he will succeed, he is not that capable for a technique line such as Denver has.

Quarterback: Let Jake go and play, he needs a fresh start and we need a viable long-term backup for Cutler - I believe Denver should re-sign Matt Mauck as their long-term backup, he knows the system and then trade or release Plummer, so he can try to play ball somewhere.

Running Back: Well here we go, Mike Bell has shown he is the viable number two we need, but Tatum Bell has shown he is not a viable number one. Two things may happen - Denver will try for a top prospect or for another 'Gem' to compete with Mike Bell and Damien Nash for the starting slot - Tatum is a casualty to me, I believe he will be traded to a team with a need for a backup likely for a draft pick or two.

Wide Receiver: Smith will return as the number three receiver, Walker and Marshall will be one and two, Hixon will be given another shot as will Kircus, they may bring in one other receiver, but highly unlikely...I think they will re-sign Quincy Morgan for Special Teams, therefore they will be well set for the year.

Tight End: They may try for a second day steal to be part of the two-tight end sets or to eventually replace Alexander, but for now the position is looking real good with Scheffler, Alexander and Jackson.

Fullback: I thought about this and I think they will re-sign only one fullback, they will look maybe to draft a Lorenzo Neil type halfback, much like we had when T.D. was so dominant, we had great fullbacks...not sure which Fullback they will not re-sign, but this is a feeling I have.

Personnel: Sign a Defensive Coordinator, Coyer is awful and we need an aggressive coach to get the Defensive to go buckwild...also go after a better line coach, let Dennison help more on the offensive forefront, hire a better quarterback coach and find a new special teams coach, one that realizes what the importance of that area is in reality.

Good thoughts but where have you been?

D.Will was the victim of unspeakable violence.

        RIP.

I think we'll need an extra corner now that we only have two proven starters.

...sorry, just found out about an hour ago!

I think the coverage on the tragedy is what really blows me away, it was not even on the front news of our paper here in Fort Collins.
