I was watching ESPN before and we got a grade of a C+ which i thought was fair because we kinda finished sloppy in the end of the year with our defense, but our offense was improving each and every week. They also said that we should draft a defensive end and a wide receiver. Im not to big in college football but ive heard quite a bit about the defensive end in florida his last name is Moss, and they had him going to Denver and had Ohio States wide receiver (i think his last name was Alexander) and from what i saw of him was somehat impressive. And for as far as runningback Shanahan is great at picking them, remember Terrell Davis wasnt drafted until the 7th round and he was an AMAZING runningback, but i wouldnt mind a runningback in the first round such as Marshawn Lynch. I'll be happy with either a defensive end or runningback in the first round for Denver. What do you guys think?

Actually, I would like to see us get a DE in the LATER rounds (Especially if we can aquire a veteran lineman like a Kerney). I would think maybe a falling-stock Quentin Moses or an underatted LaMar Woodley could do just fine.

As far as RB's are concerned, it is true that either Pittman, Irons, or Hunt would be availible in the later rounds as well. However, I would LOVE to see AP in a Denver uniform.

But when it comes to it, I would definately agree if we decide to draft a Safety (Landry, Nelson, Griffith).

Then again, this all depends on what we do in FA.

Right now, it is my opinion the Broncos need to trade down in the first round, and we have to have some luck with players like Jake Plummer and Tatum Bell on the trade market.

The Broncos have many needs, among which are (in no particular order):

1.) A legit pass rush threat at RDE.
2.) A new starting DT if Michael Myers leaves via Free Agency.
3.) A new starting strong-side LDE (although this may become Patrick Kerney).
4.) Another RB to add to the mix, and perhaps two, one in Free Agency and one via the Draft.
5.) A new starting TE (hopefully Daniel Graham).
6.) Maybe as many as two new Safeties, one to groom at each position.
      7.) A backup QB
8.) Depth at OT, and perhaps a seasoned vet if Matt Lepsis suffers a setback.
9.) We could also use more depth at WR, and if Hot Rod shows his age, and B Marsh has a Sophomore slump, we could have real needs there as well.

So there it is. The Broncos could need to fill as many as 12 players as either starters or players needed for depth.
Free Agency means bloated contracts to players that have inflated ego's, and we don't have the budget for that.

I expect the Broncos to chase a couple, ala Patrick Kerney and Daniel Graham, but if they are successful, they won't have the budget for much more. That means the Broncos need Draft picks.

In this case, it is my opinion the Broncos need quantity as well as quality in this Draft. Right now we have four Day One picks. Ideally, that number should increase to six or seven, IMO.

Currently, my vote is cast for Tennessee DT Justin Harrell after a trade down with New England to #28, in which we also aquire the Patriots second rounder

I must say that I will be disappointed if the D-line isnt addressed.........once again. I think if we can score some talent from free agency for the D-line, like Kerney or Thomas, then maybe we could look at RB in the draft. But I'd much rather they set their sights on Jarvis Moss or Amobi Okoye with the 1st round selection. That's just me though.....

          Oh....

...and I missed Cornerback as well with the loss of D Williams, and only three legit Corners currently on our roster...

If you think that's bad, Tennessee got an A+.

Their grades are where they came from (top 10 picks last yr) as opposed to where we came from, the AFC championship. They deserved higher grades than us for improving while we regressed.

I'm sure they'll regress when Pacman Jones is in jail and no longer around to win freak games for them.

EDIT: for spelling that should be outlawed....

with those needs , i say we sign a big FA DE like kerney if he gets on the market, allen, or whoever else is out. the safety we should get is merriwether out of miami. he's a ballhawk, and can hit as well. has attitude problems, but id rather attitude than bad ability. As far as RR and DT goes, it depends if this rumored trade with houston goes down. if we have the 8th pick, and peterson's there and not alan branch, than take peterson. or vise versa of what i just said, and grab branch. id like to see us get peterson, but whatev. if we could get at least 3 of these issues resolved, i'd be very pleased. Shanahan knows what he needs to do, and he does what he needs to fufill those needs. like last year. getting cutler by trading up, and trading for walker. plus, brandon marshall who will be a beast in the future. but before we worry who to get in the draft, denver must grab someone in FA who will have an instant impact.

                              1. I believe Lang/Dumervil in combination can cover the RDE spot, Dumervil can hopefully be groomed into an everydown guy over the course of the next season.
                              2. We need a legit DT anyway, Myers is smallish and a noshow on passing downs. A big guy would be very insteresting as it would allow us to use smaller DE's. If we can trade up to Houstons spot Alan Branch would be very interesting, other than that there is a few good players to be had in the 2nd and 3rd round.
                              3. Patrick Kerney would be very interesting at the LDE spot, KGB would be interesting too, along with a guy like Charles Johnson in the draft.
                              4. If we trade Tatum Bell we need at least one new RB as stated, there are a lot of interesting options in the draft, however I do believe that we should go with a seasoned guy to rotate with Mike Bell if we can not get Adrian Peterson. We can draft a late round guy to try to groom.
                              5. Unless we get Graham we should stick with Alexander and Sheffler, the problem with getting Graham is that he will require a pretty big contract and ultimately he should hopefully be reduced to a second TE during the season and certainly by next season, which would make him a very expensive backup.
                              6. Sam Brandon is ready to start right now, we do need a 1st or 2nd round S that can start next year and be a primary backup this year. Getting 2 safeties is ridiculous, Brandon is a starter level, Cox is a decent backup and Ferguson can play at least one more year at a good level.
                              7. We will go after an older guy in FA or via trade.
                              8. The falcons are looking to unload some of their OL, a trade for Foster for Weiner and a pick then he can back up Pears/Meadows and Lepsis.
                              9. There are a lot of good WR prospects to be had lower in the draft, 3rd or 4th round.
                              10. We need a new CB we can develop, preferably a fast one who can help out on return teams.

The way I see it, we trade up and get Branch/AP or stay and get a DE, get a S in the 2nd, and DT, CB in the 3rd. We get a WR, OT and RB on the 2nd day.

In my view we are pretty well set with the picks we have, Plummer and Foster could easily translate into a day one pick or maybe even 2. If we trade Tatum Bell he should represent a 3rd round pick by himself.

In FA I would like us to go after a DE and/or DT and maybe a WR with speed such as Curtis from St Louis.
