  • Brad Johnson wont be coming to Denver

    Brad Johnson-QB-Vikings Mar. 5 - 7:03 pm et

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports the Cowboys have reached terms with free agent QB Brad Johnson to be their backup for Tony Romo.
Johnson felt "a strong comfort level" with offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, whom he's older than. He should be a good mentor for Romo to fall back on and if Romo gets hurt, a better option than Drew Bledsoe.

He was cut today, according to NFL.com

Surprising, because I thought he brought great value as a back up when Culpepper went down.

He is sort of not a great starter, but too good to be a back up.

I mean, I think he would be a GREAT back up in Denver, but I think he will looking elsewhere. Like Minnesota, or some other team unsettled at QB (Oakland, Tampa, Buffalo, Atlanta, Cleveland) where he can compete for a starting job.

Everybody's gotta elevate from the norm...

Not bad at all. I think it would be prefable to sign Wright anyhow.... hopefully we will be able to nab him.

HP we could really use an experienced back up quarterback and considering what's out there Johnson wouldn't have been a bad choice imo.

The list of back up Qb's have narrowed substationally.

Brad Johnson realised that Tony Romo is a three game wonder who will lose his starting job by mid season. So he is going to get to start one last time before he retires. Romo is no way near the calibre of QB that cutler is. Johnson figured that the only way he would see any playing time is if Cutler got hurt. Good riddance. We need to call the old Arena and Florida state stud Adrian Peterson up and give him a look. He never really got a shot in New Orleans.
Only a fool allows another's opinion to anger him to the point of hurling insults.
