  • Put down your top 10 draft board

This is not a mock. Simply put down the top 10 players in the draft that you would want. Where we pick does not matter, but team needs does.

    Mine

    1. CJ - Best Player in draft.
    2. Landry - Best defensive player in draft
    3. Willis - 2nd best defensive player in draft
    4. Adams - Top DE in draft
    5. Okoye - Top talent at DT
    6. Thomas - Franchise LT
    7. Staley - May be just as good as Thomas in a couple years
    8. Brown - Could be a monster RT for us
    9. Branch - DT is a major need
    10. Carriker - Could be a solid LDE

    R Ayers - B Cofield - A Haynesworth - CJ ohnson
    J Anderson - J Beason - DJ Williams
    R Bailey - P Amukamara - R Hill - A Goodman

    2) Joe Thomas- love his skill

    4) AP- great rb
    5) Amobi Okoye- based off his brain and potential
    6) Gaines Adams- not as complete as mario williams, but a good pass rusher
    7) Laron Lnadry- tracking the ball in the air has been an issue
    8) Adam Carriker- Complete skill
    9) Patrick Willis- athletic and powerful
    10) Michael Bush- someone is getting a complete stealin the 3rd/4th round

I left of the self promoter, Brady Quinn.

        1. CJ - agreed best player in the draft
        2. Okoye - Best DT in the draft and young
        3. Adams - Best DE in the draft
        4. Nelson - Best S in the draft
        5. Griffin - Best S in the draft (Nelson and Griffin are 1a and 1b IMO)
        6. Thomas - LT of the present and future
        7. Branch - agreed that DT is a major need
        8. Staley - He's a man
        9. Anderson - DE is a need and he can rush the passer
        10. Spencer - DE is a need and he can rush the passer

I know that I don't have Landry up there. He is too aggressive and goes for the big hit too much. Nelson and Griffin both fit into Denver's system the best and would start immediately. I believe that we will either get Anderson (if we trade up) or Spencer (if we stay at #21). I would love to have Nelson or Griffin, just don't see Shanny pulling the trigger on one of them. If we could trade up and get Okoye,

          9. Branch - DT is a major need
          10. Carriker - Could be a solid LDE
I would amend this a bit:

          1. Landry - need and great talent
          2. Adams - as above
          3. Okoye - absolute freak, he'll be a superstar
          4. Willis - fills major hole but injury prone
          5. Thomas - Best lineman in draft, will go ahead of other players listed already, but Denver doesn't need this as much as defense
          6. Carriker - Solid d-lineman that would be steady player for us for years
          7. Branch - concerns about health, but fills major need
          8. Anderson - huge potential, Bates could whip him into shape
          9. Peterson - can never tell, if we got #10 pick and he slid, hard to pass up
          10. CJ - okay, I know he's the star of the draft, but we've got more pressing needs, a solid WR core already, and he's not a priority. Even if we drafted him somehow (not gonna happen - no way can we get #2 pick) we would end up trading him.
Honorable Mention (Lynch, Hall, Brown, Staley, Nelson) all of these would be okay but I wouldn't go out of my way to get them (stay at #21)
To permit irresponsible authority is to sell disaster. (Heinlein)...like Broncos season tickets!

                    For the Broncos:
                    1. CJ....DIRRR
                    2. Joe Thomas-Just too much potential with this guy
                    3. Gaines Adams-Going to be a freak pass rusher
                    4. Laron Landry-I think he's gonna be better than Sean Taylor
                    5. Reggie Nelson-Next Ed Reed
                    6. Patrick Willis-Best "true" LB to come out since Vilma, maybe better IMO
                    7. Amobi Okoye-19 yr. old who is that good, strong, and smart......UNBELIEVABLE
                    8. Adrian Peterson-Great prospect
                    9. Jarvis Moss-would fit in great with our new system w/ Bates
                    10. Levi Brown-could end up better than Thomas but not the potential right now

                    Regular draft board:
                    1. CJ
                    2. Joe Thomas
                    3. JaMarcus Russel
                    4. Adrian Peterson
                    5. Gaines Adams
                    6. Amobi Okoye
                    7. Laron Landry
                    8. Brady Quinn
                    9. Patrick Willis
                    10. Levi Brown

Well, I'll just do the top ten guys I'd like to see the Broncos draft, who are all considered (mostly) to have first-round grades and would fit in at positions of need.

                      Dream's Broncos Top Ten Wishlist

                      1) Calvin Johnson - Rare prospect, with the athleticism and mindset to dominate
                      2) Joe Thomas - Hard to find legit LT prospects, who are good at the run and pass.
                      3) Amobi Okoye - Once in a decade or so prospect with tons of potential.
                      4) Alan Branch - Fits the Bates defensive tackle model to a T and is a rare specimen.
                      5) Gaines Adams - Best pure pass rusher available.
                      6) Jamaal Anderson - Perhaps the highest potential of all ends, a good fit.
                      7) Patrick Willis - A great player, and a first-class person. Potential to be a great MLB.
                      8) LaRon Landry - Rare specimen at safety, and I think he's comparable to Atwater.
                      9) Lawrence Timmons - Physical specimen who has the tools to dominate.
                      10) Joe Staley - Oozes LT potential and is perhaps the most athletic lineman to ever declare.

                        1. Alan Branch - Fits the prototype for a Bate's DT: large.
                        2. Gaines Adams - Better player than Branch but DE is not quite as big a need as DT IMO.
                        3. Calvin Johnson - Special talent that would solidify the receiving corps
                        4. Jamaal Anderson - Has the tools to be a great all-around DE with his blend of size and speed
                        5. Amobi Okoye - Does he fit Bate's scheme? That's my only concern. Very unique talent.
                        6. Reggie Nelson - Best cover safety in the draft. Bly and Bailey would surely appreciate some help in coverage.
                        7. Patrick Willis
                        8. Joe Thomas
                        9. LaRon Landry
                        10. Robert Meachem
