  • Eddie Drummond lets get him, lions released him.

NFL Network's Adam Shefter reports that Eddie Drummond has been released.
Drummond made the Pro Bowl as a returner in in 2004, but hasn't returned a kick for a TD since. His ability as a WR hadn't impressed and the Lions didn't want to keep him as just a returner.
Lets grab him and let Morgan be a true WR

since Morgan doesn't do punts, the guy is still good at returning I don't see why we don't scoop him up since we been looking for a guy that can take it to the house on returns.

of all the cuts he would be the one i would be most interested in. we got enough wr, cut clark/morgan whoever and bring him in for returns, along with hixon.
      So far:
      FA- Melvin Gordon. Brandon Scherff
      1. Kenneth Murray LB; 2. Shenault WR; 2B. Biadazz Center, 3. OT

eh...we can do without him. It isn't our returners that is the problem...it's our special teams blocking. Returners are nothing without blocking. Hester couldn't return anything if he wasn't playing for the Bears (their special teams is what gets him the touchdowns, not the man himself.)

Unless you see tackles broken on the return, it has nothing to do with the returner.

          Four teams interested in ex-Lion
          August 24, 2007

The timing of Eddie Drummond's release gives him a better chance to land another job. Drummond said he expected to sign elsewhere soon and he had heard Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Tampa Bay and Denver were interested.

Go watch some of his videos on youtube, especially the ones from his days at the U, and prepare to be enlightened.

The returner still has to be able to read his blocks and shoot through the openings provided. Easier said than done

i think we could use him. Hixon is inexperienced and Morgan only does kickoffs. They both can be cut for all I care. Clark is doing a good job at reciever, So with him Javon, Brandon M., Brandon S., David Kircus and the tight ends we should be set at reciever. Add Drummond for returns and if we get in a bind we use him at reciever as well. But Morgan hasn't done anything for me and Hixon can just stay on for a reserve. But I definitly wouldn't mind Drummond in Denver.

Drummond would be a nice pick up. He's a proven prow bowl return man and can catch the ball if asked to do so. I live in Michigan so I watch all the Lions games when they aren't on the same time the Broncos are. One thing I will say is that Drummond looked like he lost a step last year. He can be a productive 4th or 5th option at wideout if need be, he's just not a crisp route runner.

He'd be a returner. If we were to get anything out of him as a WR, it would be a huge bonus provided he gets it done in the return game.

                    Why is it....

that as soon as somebody gets released there is a thread about us signing them. We dont need anybody but a linebacker and big DT

                      Latest On Drummond

                      Eddie Drummond (Det - WR)

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Cincinnati and Tampa Bay appear to be interested in Drummond, who was cut by the Lions this week.

Impact: Drummond ranked seventh in the league with a career-best 1,349 kickoff return yards, but was not used in offensive coordinator Mike Martz's scheme. Drummond was named to the Pro Bowl after the 2004 season when he became the second player in NFL history to return two kickoffs and two punts for touchdowns in the same season. (STATS - 8/25 1:35p)

Because this is a football message board. where as fans we discuss our team. and sometimes we even discuss what piece could or would fit better.

I have absolutely no problem discussing players coming or going. My bone stems from the topic of the same player in 15 different threads. Why people create a thread when there is already 9 is beyond me.

What is it that troubles you?

*EDIT* What also drives me insane is people that start threads about things that already exsist. may i suggest the search function
