Darrent died long before his time,
a rising star cut down in his prime,
he was a victim of a heinous crime,
shot down by some gangsta slime,
a hero was killed like another dime,
with heavy heart I type and rhyme,
in Darrent's honor each day I chime,
though now he's in a place sublime,
his mourning remains an uphill climb...

<--- To Darrent Williams, rest in peace...
I've walked these streets, a loaded six-string on my back, I play for keeps 'cause I might not make it back, I've been everywhere still I'm standin' tall, I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all!!:salute!:

And it'll give you the respect that your definitly due.
Hard to care about football when a thing like this goes down,
I can only walk around on my face I wear a frown.
You'll always be a Bronco in the heart of the fans,
I just can't wait to see your name on our stands.
To young to be taken is a phrase so often spoken,

He had a grace about him that was instantly noticed,
He was bound to be a great and yes you know this.
He had a great smile which never left his face,
He will never again set a foot on this place.
He was young, bold, brash and a bit cocky,
He always had a smile, even when things got rocky.
He was in the wrong place at the wrong time,
He was shot down way before his prime.
He, the coward who did it, will truly have to pay,
He, D Will we'll never again get to see play.

          --- Step up

          --- Don't be shy

          --- Just say your mind

          --- It's easy

          --- Give it a try

--- Poems don't have to rhyme

          --- That just isn't so

          --- Feel what you say

--- So say what you feel

          --- It doesn't matter

          --- Darrent will know

          --- Grab a pen

          --- Don't be in doubt

          --- Express yourself

          --- Write it down

          --- Let it all out

          --- I'll get my guitars

--- I'll put your words to music

--- I'll go out in the desert

--- I'll sing out to the night

--- I'll send your words to the desert night stars

          --- Step up, don't cry

          --- Let it all out

          --- It's easy

          --- Give it a try

          --- Tell Darrent your cares

          --- Doesn't have to rhyme

--- Send your words to heaven

          --- A song is a thousand prayers

So many things said about the man D Will,
It's nice to see how he made everbody feel.
The smile I've said was to me the lasting impression,
And because of that I'll make a 'lil confession.
I've been know to frown and be grumpy from time to time,
But because of Darrent, Imma let my proud smile shine.
Reflection can be to some an amazing thing,
Thinkin' about the person, can make your heart sing.
D Will had great character, and could be one also,
But that's why for him it's nothing but respect I show.

COME ON PEEPS, ADD TO THE MIX!!!!

The way he lived is how we all ned to live,
Full of life, happiness and always willing to give.
Smile at the stranger walking past on the street,
Say hello to the police officer walking his beat.
Keep a good head on your shoulders and keep an open heart,
For through this tragity we're together, and not far apart.
Darrent looks upon us and smiles with delight,
And is proud of the support since that dreadful night.
We miss you D Will and surely always will,
One more time R.I.P. to my man D Will!!!!!

I know a player who wore twenty seven,
he's gone away now, gone off to heaven,

though a small guy he played 10-foot tall,
was a rising star playing Broncos football,

his name is Darrent and he's gone away,
never again will I get to see Darrent play,

he was a part of the new Denver tradition,
two game beakers at the Corner position,

they threw at him alot in fear of the Champ,
on his share of days he lit 'em up like a lamp,

Darrent never feared getting in on a tackle,
he swarmed to the ball like a hungry jackal,

he tackled, ran and at times returned kicks,
wherever the action Darrent was in the mix,

he did whatever was the best for the team,
all the while he lived out his own NFL dream,

he was a father a son, teammate and friend,
and we all lost a great one with his tragic end...
I've walked these streets, a loaded six-string on my back, I play for keeps 'cause I might not make it back, I've been everywhere still I'm standin' tall, I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all!!:salute!:

For Darrent is surely in a much better place
with angels around him and his smiling face.
A teammate, a father, a son and much more,
a bright future in heaven is surely in store.

Words can be powerful in times like these,
so I will close with we love you, may you rest in peace.

I have read them all but this brought tears to my eyes..DAMN i cant stop cryin.

when I heard the news I was in a state of shock
that Darrent Williams passed away around 2 o'clock
I coulden't help but think as I went for a walk
that heaven's door will be greeted with a knock
the noise of every day life seemed to have been hushed
and the hearts of Bronco Nation, just like that got crushed
no doubt, the amount of time here was just too few
and the senseless violence I try to construe
a promising life ended Monday morning in the snow
If we can smile and live life like Darrent, what a gift we can bestow!

Darrent, you will never be forgotten
You've got to know when to sack em...

I'm not very talented in poetry/rhyming, but heres something I thought up:

-The Angel who is now in Heaven
                        Will be remembered as Twenty-Seven

-with a smile on his face every game
his life was ended with a bang

                        -a senseless way to go
we'll always remember the mohawk, made from a fro

-now I sit here in sadness
thinking what caused all this madness

                        -I pray for your family
                        you'll always be remembered
                        remembered by everyone including me
                        A fan named Chris B.

                        -Rest In Peace #27
I hope to see you when in heaven.

I'm not very good at poetry
But I'll give it a try
Hearing about your death, made me cry
Leaving one question, a question of "Why?"
Why did it have to be you?
A member of the great Orange & Blue
For I am a fan, a fan who is true.
The Broncos, fans, & your family will miss you.
You'll always be in our hearts, a member of the Orange, White & Blue.

                          RIP Darrent Williams. #27

As each day passes, the loss becomes greater,
As I thing of D Will being shot by a hater.
How could we lose a gifted spirit like Darrent,
Gotta watch your back, that much is apparent.
Living in a world of hate, full of wrong do'ers,
The criminal element, rising from the sewers.
We need to overcome this senseless sort of thing,
Peace, love and happiness is what I like to sing.

The sun sets and the candlelights flicker
the thought of this senseless act coulden't make me sicker
you don't see many guys like Darrent, who has so much heart
hopefully his loving spirit he did impart
it makes me smile, the goodwill that other team's fans have showed
and to read these great tributes, everyone's soft words have flowed
I know Darrent is smiling from up above
what's really important around here, when people don't hate but love

Darrent, you will never be forgotten
You've got to know when to sack em...

Kind of long, but worth it to me.

                                When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
                                All filled with tears for me;

I wish so much you wouldn't cry
                                The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
                                I didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you all,
And each time that you think of me,
                                I know you'll miss me too;

But when tomorrow starts without me,
                                Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,

And said my place was ready,
                                In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
                                All those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye
For all my life, I'd always thought,
                                I didn't want to die.

I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do,
                                It almost seemed impossible
That I was leaving so soon.

I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love I shared,
And all the fun I had.

                                But then I fully realized,
                                That this could never be,
                                For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.

But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
                                From His great golden throne,

                                He said, "This is eternity,
                                And all I've promised you.
Today your life on earth is past,
                                But here life starts anew.

                                I promise no tomorrow,
                                But today will always last,
And since each day's the same way
There's no longing for the past.

                                You have been so faithful,
                                So trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things
                                You knew you shouldn't do.

                                But you have been forgiven
And now at last you're free.
So won't you come and take my hand
And share my life with me?"

So when tomorrow starts without me,
                                Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.
