Not the best, but I gave it a shot.

The field will seem empty without you there,
But I know that your spirit will be in the air.
No one can replace the man that was taken,
Today hearts in Broncos Country are breakin'.
The memories of you are all we have now,
United together we'll get through it somehow.
To the people who did this I have one thing to say,
You'll get yours in a courtroom one day.

It brought some to tears, what happened to D Will,
It make others fear they'll be the victims of ill will.
But Darrent would've wanted us to keep our heads up,
Keep a smile on our face, show that we won't give up.
Never giving in to the evil that surrounds us,
Never letting go of those who are dear to us.
It was a tragic way for a life to come to an end,
But everyone keep your heads up as this come to an end.

      PEACE!!!

        The Prayer Chosen

I have naturally chose Psalm 27 as a prayer for Darrent as this was his number.

However, for two days, I was reading and searching for another prayer for Darrent. When one cannot be found, I will put the book down and revisit it later. When I returned to the good book, I open it and see what the answer may be from the Lord.

I opened to the First Epistle of John, right smack on 1 John 1

And to me, this was most fitting. For Darrent and the City of Denver, I offer the following:
        *******************************************
        The First Epistle of John

        1 John 1

        That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
        *****************************************

As we sit in remembrance of a man taken to soon,
I shed a lonely tear as I stare up to the moon.
Wishing for that moment, to turn wrong into right,
But all I seem to get is a burning cold from the night.
Williams was a star that was just beginning to shine,
Is it really just the cold that's burning at my mind?
Darrent we will miss you and that I'm sure you see,
I tip my 40 to you memory and shout out R.I.P.!!!!

          R.I.P. D Will!!!

          PEACE!!!

Remembering Darrent who now is at rest,
with a tear in my eye and pain in my chest,
Darrent played with passion, vigor and zest,
if you saw Darrent play, you left impressed,
played better and better as he progressed,
the life of the party 'cause he loved to jest,
with children and charity he was obsessed,
his stay was too short on earth as a guest,
no-one knew Darrent completed his quest,
God took him early as Darrent was blessed,
now Jesus holds Darrent close to his breast...

            <---Rest in peace Darrent...
I've walked these streets, a loaded six-string on my back, I play for keeps 'cause I might not make it back, I've been everywhere still I'm standin' tall, I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all!!:salute!:

                  Number 27

                  A warm smile
                  A teammate's swagger
                  A joyful life
                  A daring Bronco

A cold New Year's Eve night
                  Sharp with ice...lurking with danger
                  A street corner
                  The crack of a gunshot
                  Death
                  A bleeding wound
                  Confusion
                  Music drowned by screams
                  A warrior's head falls back
Cradled in the arms of a teammate
                  Blood-soaked, shell-shocked, horror-stricken
A cold, frigid, icy, meaningless death

                  A city mourns
                  Hearts bleed
                  Missing a smile
                  Missing a person
                  Missing a hero
                  Missing a friend
                  Missing a number

                  Missing Number 27

Whenever tragedy occurs, sometimes the skies look so gray
and when our emotions build-up, sometimes it's hard to convey
I get angry when human nature puts on a tragic display
it's senseless crap like this that makes you feel like society is in decay
then I see strangers come by, with wonderful things to say
and I get a little reality check, and people out there have found their way
I think it was too soon that Darrent got taken away
but I think where he is, where the angels play
Darrent's in a better place, and love is what people out there portray
One day the skies will clear up and we can see once again a beautiful day

Darrent, you will not be forgotten
You've got to know when to sack em...

                      ^^^^^ Nice JakeGirl

Keepin' his memory alive is what this thread is about,
A big "We Love You Darrent" is what we all should shout.
He made many friends during his short stay on earth,
I'm sure he was even smiling on his day of birth.
I can't help but miss him though I never met the man,
His competitive drive is what helped make me a fan.
D Will we will miss you, but we'll remember you always,
And smile while we think of all your amazing plays.
You were only here a minute, in life's ticking clock,
But you made a lasting statment D Will, man, you rock!!

                      PEACE!!!

Even the littlest fans know how to show respect,
It makes me smile the way they reflect.
Motivation comes in many a different form,
I like the rhyme from the young-un, a little break from the norm.
So keep 'em comin' shorty, cause you know you got the skill,
Do another rhyme......................in memory of D Wil.
