  • How come ESPN or ESPNEWS haven't even really talked about Darrent Willliam's death??

I understand it's the time for playoffs and big college games right now, but holy **** this is a freakin' death we're talking about here! He made not have been a household name for every NFL fan's player's home but he deserves to be acknowledge, he was a great player and person. I guess if this was T.O., it would be ALL over the news... FOX, MSN, CNN, hell maybe even TNT during NBA halftime shows.

Oh wait I forgot T.O. had worldwide media attention on his "pain killer suicide" moment.

This is one of the many reasons why I hate ESPN...

On a sidenote, not everyone ignores this. On Altitude during this afternoon's Colorado Avalanche game they mentioned this. They sent their condolences from the Avs team and people at Altitude.
    RIP #27 Darrent Williams

^Thanks to Paul26Stastny from Avs messageboards for the use of this one

I don't suffer from insanity, I quite enjoy it actually.

Yeah, I was wondering that too. Usually ESPNews would have something like this at the bottom right corner, but they had the score of a bowl game...

They had it on this morning in the corner but other than that its poor coverage of the story.

I started praying every day at my home, and even though I wasn't going to church all the time, I started believing more, and I think that's what stopped me from going down the wrong road. qouted by Darrent Williams

It may be because of all the bowl games going on today. I wish I had the NFL network.

I wondered this too, but then realized what the killer probably wanted was this all over the TV. He probably would of felt a sense of fame or something, you never know. Also as someone else mentioned i believe they want the people that were involved to not be mentioned as the gunners could come after them.

I've watched most fo the day. Espn talked about it a few minutes, Nfl network talked about it briefly.

Apparently Bob Knight, the bowl games, and next weeks playoffs matter more to them, than the life of a young athlete killed in a senseless tragedy.

ESPN just talked about it. They said that Kenyon Martin told the DenverPost that Bronco players and Nugget players were at the night club, as it was Kenyon's birthday, and Darrent was one of the people giving the party for Kenyon.

Thanks to Bronco4Life and Medford Bronco for signature

Rest in Peace - Darrent (27) and Damien (29

i think it should be the #1 sports story no matter what else is going on. This is the loss of a human life, this is real. The other 'games' are merely entertainment and it all seems trivial after something like this happens.

Honestly, I don't give a #^&$ whether or not brett favre retires or his crying (which is what I saw them talking about on all the sports shows today) not when a young, promising player is murdered

Yeah I just saw that. But that was IT! That's all the coverage it got!!

yeah I've been watching tv all day and have seen maybe 4 minutes of info on the sports channels.

Bob Knights record is more important

I know, they talked more about how Brett Favre shed tears weather he's going to retire or return for the 19th billion time, than a death!!
