They might be, but it has a cost and we are talking backups, I find it hard to believe they are looking at backups with Lock's "sprained thumb". I certainly could be wrong though.

I think it’s a grade 2 sprain which ahoild take 5-6 weeks to heal. The problem is that those sort of injuries can nag a player, especially his throwing hand. Mullins and Beathard are probably two of the best guys you could get. Both are well ahead of Hogan and Rypien.
