Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Official Game Day Thread: Week 1 2006 Broncos vs Rams
Of course we don't have to worry about the heat but let's hope we have a better start against the Rams then we did against Miami last year.
Anyone else thinks this first game looks familair?
now you're getting me nervous.
We SHOULD beat them handily, but i think the fact that there is no heat factor makes that a whole lot more of a reality.

Well being on turf doesn't really make me feel good, either.
I think we'll be ready, though. They've got enough questions on D IMHO for us to exploit, and if we sick Champ on Torry Holt hopefully we can keep they're passing game subdued. Anyone have stats on hand of how/if Champ has matched up with Holt before?
I think the first four games will be really tough for Denver. We can win them all but to start off with St Louis, ouch, they looked good last night. I know can't judge preseason from regular.
They can score, but they strike me as being soft. Hopefully we can slap 'em around a bit.
They may be soft but with Bulger returning and healthy (mostly) and guys like Torry Holt and Steven Jackson, they will be a force to be reckoned with on their turf. Our D will really need to play their best game in that one, otherwise it could get ugly fast...
"When Kepler found his long-cherished belief did not agree with the most precise observation, he accepted the uncomfortable fact. He preferred the hard truth to his dearest illusions; that is the heart of science."
I met Steve Jackson this offseason (photoshoot for my magazine... he's a Vegas local), and I told him I am a Broncos fan and he was like "Yea, we face eachother in Game 1 of the season". And I said, "don't worry man... Game 2 will be better for your team".
We shared a good laugh, but I hope I didn't light a fire under his ass, lol
