That is Vic style of defense. They allow plays hoping the defenders will make the play and tackle. It is designed bend but do not break.

I hate it.

Aggressive defenses are so much better

It's designed to not give up the big play, yet that never seems to occur.

I do not think the roster is that bad but yea will take time for a new coaching staff to get their guys.

Ideally we would hire someone like Wade Phillips who can build the scheme around the players we have.

As opposed to Vic and Shurmur who seem to have set ideas what they want to do and we need to find particular players to fit their style of coaching

Yes. Lock isn't going to win many games but it's better to know both QBs level of play ability and make a decision from there. Once this season is over, get rid of everyone. Lock, Bridgewater, Fangio, Shurmur, and draft a QB or sign Rodgers.
