  • Official Game Day Thread: 2021: Week 7 Broncos vs Browns

    Hey Bronco fans,

Welcome to game 7 on a short week. Where the 3-3 Broncos go on the road to face the 3-3 Browns.
After the last 3 weeks. These look like the Broncos we have seen from 2016 forward. We haven't looked good.

We have fallen into deep holes the last 2 weeks. Our QB has turned in to Too Late Teddy. Two TDs in the 4th quarter, too little, too late.... Teddy.

IF there is a saving grace. No Mayfield, No Chubb, No Hunt. Our old QB Case Keenum will start, it would be our luck if he went off the hook and won it for them.
Still if there is a game to be won this week, this could be the one. We just need to take advantage of it. Cleveland still has a good D, so it is not as easy as it sounds.
How ever we play, we will be the only football game for people to watch, so hopefully we rise to the occasion.

The Browns are ranked higher than us on both offense and defense.
We are ranked better at the pass, they are the number 1 rushing team. Another good reason to face them when their #1 & #2 backs are sidelined.
Mayfield has been sacked 18 times in the first 6 games. The o-line is a weakness we can exploit. Too bad our pass rush is not what we had hoped it would be.
We should have more sacks and QB pressures than we do, especially with a defensive minded head coach.

We have been ok containing the run. OBJ may not be playing, but Peoples Jones went off last week for over 100 yards.
While Teddy has finding Sutton in recent week, he also has been finding the other teams deThe Broncos are 24-6 all-time vs Browns, incl. playoffs (won 12 of last 13 games).fenders. 3 Ints last week alone. That is 10 TD to 4 Ints, still not bad.
Patrick and Fant have been our go to guys with a run called in here and there. Wonder how well we have done if KJ and Jeudy stayed healthy.

Myles Garret has 8 sacks this year. Denver has given up at least 2 sacks each game this year, allowing Teddy to be sacked 4 times by the Raiders alone.

We need to hope Cleveland at least 4 one game plays like the Cleveland of old. The Broncos are 24-6 all-time vs Browns, incl. playoffs (won 12 of last 13 games).
I think Case will play well, he was 11-3 when Stefanski coached him in Minnesota. That never translated to Denver.

In the last 10 years we are 6-4. Of the 6 wins, 5 came at home, 1 on the road. Of the 4 losses. 2 came at home, 2 on the road.

Get some rest and enjoy the game, we are not prime time darlings. I hope we play hard, play smart and pull out an all too rare Win. Regardless of outcome please follow the COC as always. If you see others violating the COC report them, don't engage them or feed the trolls. The board has a great group of long standing mods who help keep this place running.
Let's go get the "W" Be safe out there, and as always Go Broncos!!!

Lets not cry about Jeudy and KJ, we have a capable wideout in John Brown (4.3 speed) maybe they drew up some plays to utilize his speed. If Teddy's ankle is questionable hope Lock is better prepared than the last time he took the field. Go BRONCOS

We need to raise the level of intensity across the board. As bad as things seem, we are still 3-3 and up against a team who may have deeper problems, at least as things stand- they were expected to win 12 games or so, and haven't shown anything like that kind of form. Our expectations for this season were never that high.

And we have the better kicker

When healthy, they play like a 12 win team.

I will say this. If there is such a thing as Winning another Game this Year I think this is the one. So while there may not be that many more Happy Memories of our Denver Broncos Beating Down Teams this Year I think Denver will win this one tonight therefore making my prediction of a 3-14 Record now maybe to a 4-13 Record. The Last Time Von Miller stated that we going to go off he did down in AZ so I do expect Von to Wreck It Tonight. As Quoted by one of the best " Denver Owns Cleveland" Lets Go Denver Broncos Lets Go !!

I’m honestly not sure what to expect. I’m hoping to see some life, that’s for sure. I really don’t want to see them flat out of the gate.

                      Go Broncos!

Got a decent feeling, given that nearly all of all Cleveland’s offense is on the bench, but who knows. Our offense will more than likely struggle against their D, but if our D can do it’s job against a bunch of backups, should be a close game.

Offense: Take care of the ball. Teddy needs to be quicker with his progressions tonight. Use John Brown. Be patient with the run game.

Defense: Front 4 MUST get pressure on Keenum, forcing him to throw early. Contain the run (ILB's must play sound). DO NOT GIVE UP THE BIG PLAYS.

ST's: We're gonna need McManus to continue his good kicking. It may be an ugly game, so we'll need him to be on and make some kicks. DO NOT GIVE UP THE BIG PLAYS.

Coaching: Sigh. Nothing but despairing thoughts.

Now let's go! Steal a win in Cleveland!
