  • Jenkins or Rogers

If the broncos could have one or the other who would it be Kris Jenkins DT of the panthers or Shaun Rogers DT of the Lions

Kris Jenkins......AND Shaun Rogers......But if I had to choose, I'd choose Jenkins......

      Rogers

I wouldn't want both of them, too much money and too much risk involved. Both players have been known to have conditioning issues.

        Shaun Rogers.

I compared their stats. First, Rogers has been more durable throughout his career (they have both played seven seasons). Second, Rogers has more tackles.. by a lot, I take this to mean he can play the run better than Jenkins. Third, Pass Deflections. Shaun Rogers has batted down almost 4 times as many passes at the line than Kris Jenkins.

Now, y'all whine about how he does not show up in the second half of the season. But when he plays he plays. Who knows a young stud in Marcus Thomas next to him might light a fire under his butt.

I would think the tackles stat is misleading.

First of all, the Lions are usually losing, which forces the offense to RUN against the Lions to run out the clock.

Secondly, Kris Jenkins missed basically two FULL seasons with an injury. (2005 he played 1 game, 2006 he played 4).

Shaun Rodgers only injury plagued year was in 2006, when he played 6 games.

Tackles are misleading to being a better run stopper..

I understand that tackles are misleading in that sense, and that was probably an error on my part. Considering I have not watched many games of these guys so it was all I had to go on, and being that Rogers made over a hundred more tackles in the same amount of time I made an assumption.

Still, Rogers seems to be more of a complete player. I am extremely impressed that Rogers has knocked down 21 passes compared to Jenkins 6.

Ah, not a problem bud. Just my opinion about the tackles stats.

I will agree with ya on Rodgers though.

One of the main reasons is because he's less injury prone.

Neither, I like Colt Brennan's upside at DT in the NFL. He should be a nice second rounder guy, he'd fit in here well.
