  • Can Cutler Impact Shanahan's Draft?

If Cutler calls up Shanahan and talks about their chemistry and how much he wants Bennett to be a Bronco, do you think Shanahan will listen to the opinion of his quarterback?

This is of course if Javon is traded/released.

I think Shanahan will definitely listen to Jay's ideas, he'd be a fool not to.

But at the end of the day there'll be a lot of guys who end up having a say on what direction Shanny goes in, Jay will just be one of them.

It really depends on what we have to give up to get him. Also, where he goes, I would expect more of a.. "If he's there late we will draft him, but if not then we won't give up our draft for him."

If we picked up extra picks then maybe we target him though. I am not sure if Bennet is a surefire second or third rounder, but we may need the extra wideout.

Shanahan won't just drop his draft plans because Jay says he wants his teammate though, you still gotta look at the ups and downs of the kid and decide if you want to draft him.

        He freakin better.

Jay is a helluva lot more important to the team than Shanny.

I would advise the route where we keep the key to our team good and happy.

I don't think the FO will bend over backwards to get Earl Bennett, but if they can find a way to get him that fits into their plans, they likely will. A happy franchise QB = a productive franchise QB.

if the broncos are looking at getting a WR cutler could help bennetts cause but i do not expect shanny to just listen to jay. He is going to do what him and pat bowlen(considering that is the only man that has more power than shanny) thinks is best for the team.

              One thing you must learn

              SHANNY IS GOD.

              Without Shanny

There would be no Jay Cutler on our team.

If there's any player on the team who can influence the way we draft, it's Jay. With that said if Bennett is still there in the fourth I think we will draft him, or maybe trade up for a late third round pick, but I don't think we will use our second round pick on him. That seems to high IMO, and we have bigger needs that can be addressed with that pick (DT).

You don't let third year players determine who you draft.

Hopefully Cutler isn't concerned with where Bennett goes, he's got enough on his plate.

Now if Cutler wanted Chris Williams, Shanahan better damn well listen to his Franchise QB......

Without a doubt... I saw an interview with BMarsh where he mentioned about half a dozen times about how open to players opinions Shannahan was. Marshall actually jogged up to Shanny after a play, told him he could beat the defender on the double move so the play was called by Brandon and resulted in a TD.

I would defiantly put it on Shannahan to have confidence in Cutler enough to have a high influence on draft picks, if Jay felt the way he supposedly does about Bennett, or Williams.

Ha ha. Lets just go for broke and draft Williams, Bennett, and Goff. We can have "the vanderbunch".

Hahaha...can't you take a joke or are you not stnzed enough! Kidding of course!

Shawn Murphy is IMHO the most underated offensive lineman in the draft - http://utahstateaggies.cstv.com/spor...y_shawn00.html

He is listed as a tackle for the combine, he can play both left line positions and he is a solid leader.

Dude! That's not a bad idea......Well, "the vanderbunch" thing is kinda stupid, but drafting Williams/Bennett/Goff works for me............
