  • Andrew Bain

Anyone heard about this guy, Andrew Bain out of The U, he is an OG.

nfldraftcountdown has him listed at 6'3" 344 lbs and running a 5.15 40.

If he manages to do that at the combine I could see his stock rising like crazy.

What have you guys heard/seen about this guy?

    Is he a wideout?

Cause that's really not that impressive for a wideout.

CAREER: Huge senior offensive lineman who started at left guard in 2006...Fine run blocker who can be a standout as a pulling guard or on trap plays...Has played in 32 games, with 14 starts...Can also play offensive tackle...Graduated in December 2006 with a degree in psychology and is pursuing a second major in African-American studies.

2006 (JUNIOR): Started at left guard the entire season...Team's only returning offensive lineman who started all 13 games in 2006...Occasionally rotated for a few series with either Alex Pou or A.J. Trump...Graded 73 percent for the season and allowed only two sacks...Played every snap in four contests (Louisville, Duke, Boston College and Nevada)...One of eight UM players who were selected to the 2006 ACC Academic Football Team.

2005 (SOPHOMORE): Played in nine games and made one start...For the season, made four pancake blocks, 10 metrorails and allowed two sacks...In the season opener at Florida State, made his first career start in place of injured Tony Tella at right guard. Played the entire game except for the final drive. Made one pancake block, one metrorail and allowed two sacks...Did not play the next game at Clemson, then played as a reserve guard vs. Colorado...Played as backup right guard, alternating for several series vs. South Florida...Played as a backup right guard again vs. Duke, alternating with Tella throughout the first three quarters...Played most of the game at right guard at Temple, saw action vs. North Carolina, then missed the Virginia Tech game...Played much of the second half at left guard at Wake Forest, then sat out Georgia Tech...Did not start vs. Virginia, but took over at right guard in the second quarter after Tella was injured and played the remainder of the game...Played right guard for the final series of the Peach Bowl vs. Louisiana State.

2004 (FRESHMAN): Redshirt freshman who played in 10 games at guard, mostly on the field goal and extra point units...Did not play vs. Florida State and Louisville...Saw action at guard vs. Louisiana Tech and Wake Forest.

2003 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt.

So is he a year removed from football?
With that evaluation I do not understand why nfldraftcountdown has him near the bottom of their OG list.

Anyway it sounds like Shanny's man: athletic (assuming he runs a 5.15) and bigger than a usual Bronco lineman.

Its probably the direction Shanny should go. Quick and athletic, but sacrifice for a little more size.

That is the direction he wants to go. He has stated before (last year I think) that the line is small because they place athleticsm has higher priority than bulk. So this is the type of player Shanny is looking for, allegedly.

On a side note, I did not see his name on the combine invite list so hopefully we will see what he can do at Miami's pro day.

Untill the combine all the times on draftcountdown are estimates. Just variations of .05. Does sound like one of those late round picks on the o-line that Shany would like.
                      Thanks WhiteDragon!
