  • No more Moose for the Bears

Just saw where Muhsin Muhammad was cut by the Bears. Any thoughts on where he might land in the league?

I can't remember if he left the Panthers on bad terms but I do know they are strapped at WR, wouldn't be surprised to see him head back to Carolina

San Francisco or Atlanta, maybe Minnesota.

I wonder how this move affects what they do with Berrian. If they let both WRs go with their lack of a QB and a good RB, they are nuts. I hope they let Berrian walk though so we have a chance of signing him.

Actually I have heard the Bears are very interested in Mendenhall as is Detroit, but they also need offensive line help. They will re-sign Berrian and likely try to Draft Henne in the second round. IMHO...Briggs will be re-signed and moved into the middle, they will re-sign Berrian and try to get some offensive consistency.

                **If Ellis/Dorsey dont fall**

                2) Pat Sims or Trevor Laws(whoever falls)
                4) Frank Okam

He just had neck surgery and thought he might need back surgery...supposedly he will be ready for camp. If not Briggs will likely be re-signed. I also think they could take a linebacker in the draft, someone who fits both positions. But they will not be able to count on Urlacher to return, they will hope like hell he can...but you never risk not having a backup plan.

I should say he has had surgery and they believe he will return, but there is no guarantee. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3236976 he also believed he may need back surgery but luckily he did not. He is likely to return, but Lovey but he can not count on it. Even for the surgery he had should be worrisome, he is already hurting with arthritic pains...the boy will not be able to walk in a few years.

The bad thing is that Briggs wants out, so he if you actually think about it will be gone, that near guarantees they will re-sign Berrian. Urlacher is the heart of that team, but I would not be a bit surprised if they made a run at Thomas for a season or two to rotate and as a backup...this is all stipulation of course.

I really feel bad for Urlacher because if he is in that much pain already in three years...whoa! I am not sure who will dish out the money to Briggs, I will say of the two, honestly we have a better chance of Briggs, because Berrian is a bigger need, but if somehow Urlacher is not ready to play because of the surgery or the pain, they could be hurting for a temp fill in.

Urlachar had a back injury for at least half the year last year, could have been more. He played through it though. And now he needs surgery.

You have to give him credit, he is up there with Rod Smith and John Lynch in the heart department. I hope he can return, but damn...he will be in pain in three years and forced to retire from countless surgeries IMHO.

Yeah, I live right on the Wisconsin Illinois border so I listen to ESPN Radio: Chicago, so I heard a lot on the Bears. It seemed like Urlacher was the only guy on the team with any heart. He kept playing despite the injury which seemed to be pretty painful, or at least that's how the Chicago media made it seem.

I really hope Urlacher doesn't suffer long term effects from playing football, but as you said there's a good chance in a few years he'll be done with football due to the injuries.
