I seriously doubt that. Elam goes to my church and he just became a decon. He loves his life currently and I can't see him traveling abroad for an extended amount of time. Here's to hoping he comes back...
    Let's fix this defense!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think he's an awesome guy for being so commited to his faith. I won't hold it against him if he does leave but I know I'll miss him.

Actually, as you can see from the article, his faith is the reason he's travelling:

Personally, I'd be shocked if he isn't wearing a Bronco uniform next year - the guy doesn't have quite the range he once had (and of course he doesn't kick off) but he's still one of the best clutch kickers of all-time, IMHO.

What wrong with the Denver front Office? Sign Elam!! As much as he has done for us! He still is money!

I tell you I love Elway! He was my hero growing up. I loved the way he threw the ball with velocity! I love that in a QB. This is why I am a Cutlerfan!!

                Jason Elam

I think the reason the Broncos are holding off on signing Elam is that they may take a look at Josh Brown from Seattle. This is conjecture from me, but why else would they hold off on resigning him?

                  I don't understand it...

We won 7 games last year. 4 on last second field goals by Elam.

Elam has scored more points for one team (us) than any player in history and is one of the top 5 best PK in history and is coming off a season where he hit 87% of his kicks.

PK isn't something to gamble with...I'm hoping the Broncos are just letting Elam find his value, then match any offers, but who knows?

If were doing that, I am going to be sick. Brown is inconsistent. I had him on my fantasy team last year and he missed at least two kicks a game. Elam, although he is aging, is still better and more consistent.

                    Bring Elam Back!

Guys.. I love Jason Elam and have been a HUGE fan of his for years. But this isn't just a no-brainer. This isn't an easy topic for me, and I don't even have a personal friendship and relationship with Elam like both Shanahan and Bowlen do.

But the facts are pretty simple, and they have been declining the last few years. Jason's range has SIGNIFICANTLY dropped the last couple of years. Anything over forty is risky.. and anything over 45 is plain out GUTSY to try with him now. He can't kick-off, so that means we have to find a punter that can KO as well. Did you see how poor our KO team was last season? Horrendous, and that had a lot to do with our kicker not having the expertise to either kick it high enough, or.... deep enough.

Yes... Elam is gold on anything 35 yrds and shorter. 40 yrds he is nearly as good.... but the reality is he just doesn't have the leg that we need, and thus the tough decision.

I've said it in another thread and I will say it again...

If Jason Elam isn't signed it will be anarchy in Denver. Fire will raise from the ground, black clouds will loom in and cover the city. Fierce lightning bolts of magical power will strike the heart of the Rocky Mountains as if to tare them into two. A plague of death will spread across the land...

Sign Jason Elam. The guy is Denver special teams... One of our greatest problems as an organization is we lack a team identity. Well Jason Elam and Mike Shannahan are just about the only our Anchor that our team has had since the glory years. You think our team struggles with Identity now? Try stripping down the face of Denver special teams, Jason Elam. How can we forget the close games we had this season that were won on our ice cold kicker, how many more problems do we have when the new guy we bring in isn't a guarantee of a game saving field goal.

Sign the man, draft a kicker now.
