  • Brandon Lloyd Cut (Merged)

What do you guys think about him?

The Redskins cut Brandon Lloyd on Tuesday, ending the receiver's disappointing stay with the team.

ASHBURN, Va. -- Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd was released by the Washington Redskins, ending his disappointing stay with the team.

He caught only 25 passes with no touchdowns in two seasons with the Redskins. His totals were two catches for 14 yards last season, when he broke his collarbone in November.

Lloyd already had fallen out of favor with the team because of his work ethic and lack of productivity.

The Redskins traded two draft picks to the San Francisco 49ers to acquire Lloyd before the 2006 season. They then signed him to a long-term contract that included $10 million in guaranteed money.

No. He's not any good. What has he ever done, besides a few highlight-reel catches?

If I remember correctly, I believe Shanahan tried to bring him in via trade not long ago, or via free agency. But I remember we were interested in him...I could see him coming here, while others may spew the matter he is cheaper then other options and he would be in a solid role to help us and we could still add depth.

Do we go with Moss, Berian, Stalworth or Johnson, which we could only add one and maybe end up with an issue. Or by chance do we sign free agents who have not really shined but have good ability such as Brandon Lloyd and Ruvell Martin, I say the second option is a better way to go and it is more like Shanahan then the first choice.

This Guy Can Catch A Ball... He used to make some fantastic catches in SF.. Dont know why he didn't produce in WASH, But I would say he's worth looking into..

You know the WR position is thin when David Kircus is more appealing than most of the free agents.

He also made a highlight reel of fantastic drops too. Sorry but drops outweigh one handed catches any-day.

He can not catch anything if his life depends on it. He might grab 1 ball every couple guys that looks great... and on the other ten choke.

Wash. payed him around 15 mil and he caught 2 balls (Sarcastic... but not really)

He sucked when he was a niner, then with skins, and then with the next team.

rather have Justin McCareins over him any day IMO

                        yeah,

washington also payed adam archuleta 50 mil to be a special teamer.

I think he would be worth s look at if the price was right.

                          Who's the Redskins QB again???

Don't know much about the guy but can we SOLELY blame his lack of productivity on him? Or, does the quarterback throwing the ball and the run first (sometimes run only) approach have a little to do with it?

                          Just a thought....
