Just thinking here, for the guys that think the Henry/Young combo is good, think of what the Mendenhall/Henry/Young combo could do. No matter what Defenses do, they have a fresh RB who can get yards in chunks.

ok here we go witrh mendehall, i dont dislike the guy and wouldnt be upset if we got him, however we have travis henry who restructured by doing so he showed shanny he wants to be here, furthuring shannys support of henry, henry had a rough year no doubt but in shannys eyes he earned the right for next year do not expect a 1st rd back this year. It would be nice and would make our offesne nice.....yada yada yada especially since next years RB class is weak, BUT.........henry and mendehall are the same kind of back, if we get any back it should be an upgrade over selvin young who was far more injury prone than henry, young had 3 different issues last year while henry had 1 lingering 1 but still tried to play through it. henry doesnt have the best character currently but the guy can still run the football. if there is a back on our squad i dont belive in its selvin young and andre hall, who i feel are nothing more than products of our system. I actually feel that a henry/tashard choice would be like paring a bruiser with a chester taylor like back. could be good for us

there are some backs worth taking a look at in the second rd. Also i find it hard to understand why people want a recievr in the 1st 2 rounds because they usually fight for number 1 reciver money, let me ask u this would you rather pay big money to a guy like bennet or would you save that money get a 3rd or 4th rd reciver and pay marshall his big money next year?????



i think i would take the 3rd rd reciver and save the money for marshall.

You're right it would be nice... The only problem I can see IMO is the fact that we have greater needs at other positions to use a first round on a RB.. I also think that Denver's RB system is the best in the league IMO it feels like we can train and putt almost anyone in the backfield and they do well...

Unless we get Ellis, we can't fill those needs the best possible way by getting something else in the 1st. The LB class is deep in the 2nd and as I said in the thread, I'm not against getting an LB in the 2nd. Basically what my draft is doing is getting a very good offense and getting some defensive guys I think will be very good at specific things we need them at.

PS I'm hoping we get Rogers in a 1st round deal and that is helping to address a need in the 1st day

Yes true, but they don't produce Touchdowns. That's the most important thing that we need from our RB's. Minnesota for example is known to churn out RB's with great numbers as well. But once they got Adrian Peterson, their whole entire team just rallyed behind him and nearly got into the playoffs. We need a guy much like that, a guy who can make a instant impact. We can't wait for another Mendenhall or Stewart who were born to play in our system and become all-time greats.

This is the one of the best RB classes in years to come and we are in postion to select the top RB's besides McFadden. We can't let an oppertunity like this slip because we have other needs.
