2 years, yeah not gonna happen.
    No Salary Cap=No Rules
If you are a GM you sign free agents next year to LONG deals, like 5+ years.
So you lock-on the money and don't over spend when the NFL doesn't have a salary cap.
It is gonna be very intresting in the next two years, because I can see Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder spending 75 Million+ in JUST free agency two years from now.

They can go ahead, thats the point of this thread is that it doesn't matter how much you spend. Chemistry, good drafts, and keeping your own good picks is the best approach. Who other than the 94 49ers has ever bought a championship?

Free Agency increases the price of top players each year. Next offseason or so, we have to re-sign Brandon Marshall whom will likely get offered twice what Berrian did. That single signing will effect our franchise for years. Especially since a new CBA and salary cap will likely be ironed out. Then, of course, we have to resign DJ Williams, and Tony Scheffler, and Jay Cutler, etc...

We are being cheap this offseason in the hopes of having a prayer to resign our own guys next offseason.

We need to lock a couple of these guys up this season, but you know damn well Shanahan will let them walk, he's a f-ing idiot!!!

I sure hope he signs them all but it is very possible he will let our young corners go, and maybe Scheffler too. I think that's why they are saving their money though for sure. We gotta keep our gys, similar to how Indy has done, minus EDGE but they had a replacement for him already.

It's an interesting idea. I had the chance to go watch Tim Crowder play here in Austin while he was a Longhorn, and he is definitely a great prospect and force to be reckoned with.

But either way, there was no excuse for Denver not to try and get at least 1 big name in FA this year. Marcus Stroud would have been a STEAL for 3rd and 5th round picks (which is what the Bills gave for him), and a Randy Moss or Dante Stallworth should have happened...

As for a no-Salary Cap NFL, that would ruin the game. Do we honestly want the New England Patriots becoming the New York Yankees of the NFL??? HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO!

The smaller market teams will not be able to compete nearly as consistently. Cap or not, it is smarter to have your own talent developed in house, and the ability to keep them here. The trick is to keep hitting on our draft picks. Can you name a team in recent memory who won a Super Bowl primarily on the high priced Free Agents they brought in? The last one I can think of is Green Bay in 96 with Reggie White. There is something to be said about the trade market though. A veteran brought in by trade for the right price can push a team over the top. Marshall Faulk helped push the Rams, Favre was a trade now that I think of it, but even those situations seem rare. I think if there is no cap in a couple years, the NFL will fall as America's favorite league because the Parody is one of the things that makes it so fun to watch. If it happens though, Denver would have more money than ever to spend if they decide it's necessary? I strongly hope they work out a new CBA that will be good for both sides and keep the NFL as the best run league there is.
I agree-we have a very good QB unlike most other teams, and the Indy's, Chargers and Patriots will likely fade a bit in a year or so-things happen fast in the NFL. Be patient and build on the young talent we have. And build a killer front seven!
