With the recent cut of J. Walker and not getting any of the top options for WR in Free Agency. Do you think the broncos pull the trigger within the first two round of the draft. Colbert is nothing more than a number 3 right now but until Stokley leaves Colbert is the 4th option. Would not be suprised thought if Broncos feel like he can play the number 2 WR. I mean the Panthers were horrible this year. Even the highly talented Steve Smith couldn't do much once Jake Delhome ( or however u spell it) got hurt. Even when Jake was healthy he pretty much looked for Smith every play. I'm starting to think Broncos will trade down get more picks then get a WR within Day 1. What are your thoughts on this?

I think it could go either way. It being a good idea because the broncos are in desperate need of a wide reciever, a top notch one too. The chances of them trading down (if they do get one in rd 1) just to get one are slim. Trading down usually ruins teams than it does improve them. Ex: The Saints. It could also be bad because the Broncos have some positions that REALLY need taken care of before the WR position. All in all it might not be a bad idea, but then again i would say the earliest would be a rd. 3 pick.Originally posted by darth-hideousChamp losing a step, just means the rest of the NFL is now only two steps behind. -
I say do it.
In my opinion a first round WR would help our offense much more than a first round HB. At the HB position we are moderately set, they will only be better then they were last year in which we got by. However, the loss of Javon Walker puts big pressure on our up and coming BMarsh. We could complete a solid pass offense with acquiring a first round wide out, spend the pick to get the exact right guy for the fit. Somebody who can stretch the field, make the necessary catches and can throw down a block to bring support to the run game.
If we had a first round WR not only would it alleviate the pressure from Brandon, but maybe we have an immediate impact and a solid number 2 receiver. With the pair of them with and big Scheff we have ourselves a nice set of receivers for an effective pass offense.Comment

I like the idea of trading down to get a later pick for a WR if the early DT's, and Keith Rivers are off the board. It seems we need about six good players in the earlier rounds and I wonder if we really need an offensive tackle considering lack of depth and striking power at WR. We will go 2 TE sets alot and have talent to do it though.Comment

I like Devin Thomas but hes moving up to an early 2nd possibly late 1st so I dont know if we could get him. Other than that there might be Adrian Arrington as a late pick up or DJ Hall would be more realistic.Comment
