Wow that's good news. Of the three we looked at, he was my preferred. I think this will bolster the safety position for a year at least. Until we have time to address it by the draft in a year or two.

Nah it won't. They might add one more safety with a 2nd day pick, but that's it.

1st and 2nd rounds look to be OT/DT.

OT Jake Scott would allow for a skill position emphasis after we get a couple of DT's. I like Trevor Laws of Notre Dame in Rd. 2 instead of these fat guys who just take up space when they feel llike it.

I understand that terms to the deal weren't immediately disclosed. Anybody want to take any guesses as to what McCree's price tag was? Guesses or estimates?

I'm hoping it's not too much. I must be one of the few, if not the only, that's disappointed with this signing. I was hoping we'd try to scrape by at safety this year (as bad as that sounds), and draft a safety day one next year. I guess I can hold out hope it was a short-term deal.

I'm also wondering who's job he's going to be competing for, Hamza's or Lynch's?

3 year 8.5 million. that's my guess, but I don't have any info.

If Denver moves down and Phillips is the best value on the board, they damn well better take him......That's the whole point of building through the draft.

How many long term players does the Broncos have a safety? Hamza Abdullah......maybe. They have John Lynch, who's going to retire soon, and Marlon McCree, who's going to be 31 in a week and a half.

I'm stoked that Denver signed McCree, it means Denver won't have to reach for Phillips, but it shouldn't mean Phillips isn't the best option later in the draft should Denver move down......

WOW, I guess Safety was a real priority, now all we need to do is add an OT or DT and we can go to the draft woth alot of options!

Yeah and these guys still have to make the team. All of the deals we have been giving out have been cap friendly.

too bad they're aren't any good OT or DT FA's still out there. Jake Scott is a guard, so he doesn't count. Look for these positions to be addressed early in the draft, probably their first 2 picks.

Scott's signing could possible free up Kuper to provide either depth or starting quality to the tackle position, as well as improve the interior of the line to help out an aging Nalen.

I doubt we get him though... too pricey?
