Where does everyone keep getting that the Broncos are "high" on Harris? The guy is unproven and has NEVER taken a snap at LT in the NFL. He has a history of back problems and has already had surgery. other than him we have...Pears...and....who? Pears is sub par and there's no depth behind either. maybe it's finally time that we take a franchise OT and stop trying to convert TEs or scrape by with late round or UDFAs. LT is the MOST IMPORTANT position on the O-line which is the MOST IMPORTANT part of the Offense.

KCs O-line made mediocre Trent Green and good but not spectacular Priest Holmes into pro-bowlers. The late 90s Broncos line made TD into a 2000 yd rusher, league MVP, and Superbowl MVP. Go ahead and try to convince anyone who knows Broncos' football that TD would have anywhere near the success running behind our current line. Rebuild the O-line and D-line. if we make them dominant, it won't matter who is throwing the ball or running with the ball. If you win the battle in the trenches on both sides of the ball, you'll win the game every time!

In statement after lepsis retired they said that harris would be ready to fill in and that they thought he was really good and they talked him up.

Of course they did. What, did you expect them to say, "Oh $h!zzle!, I guess we're in the market for a new LT!" They wouldn't talk down Harris any more than they'd tip their hand about who we'd pursue in FA or the draft. Funny, the Front Office hasn't said anything about improving at DT, either - it took Lynch and Champ to say it out loud!

Just look at the roster and tell me the O-line is good enough where it is that you'd be comfortable with a WR or RB in the first and a DT in the second. if Harris gets hurt... who goes in? What if Pears is out? We have LESS depth at OT than we do at DT - that scares the CRAP outta me!

I'm sure if Shannahan thinks Harris can't cut we will be seeing an LT called on draft day.

I remember reading the article of Matt Lepsis's retirement and Lepsis had stated that he was comfortable with Harris's progression to replace him. Not knowing if he stated that to make the public more "comfortable" with the decision or what...and as far as the team being high on players...Shanahan is high on Nate Jackson....for what reasons...I would like someone to explain to me...the guy has been injured more than he has played since coming here...and year after year he is resigned or brought back....and him being Shanny's friend doesn't count as a legitimate reason!
