  • My Final Mock Before The Draft!!!! I Promise!!!

DISCLAIMER: i hereby certify that this is my final mock before the draft if i post another mock before that time i will write whatever you guys want in my sig clamining i am a lying blubbering fool

    So without further ado......

we will trade fox for a 3rd rd pick i wont list a team becasue its hard to tell, but there are quite a few teams that may miss out on some much needed secondary help in the second so giving up a 3rd for a guy with starter expirience and youth is not unlikely. now is the time to get something for him before he tests FA waters.

We also will trade down our 12th pick. Clady will be gone and williams may actually not be the best for us, he is a great lineman and some weights could help his upper body strength. stewart will aslo be gone and while mendehall could be a target chicago, and detroit could be very willing to trade up, even battling with each other. possible trade down partners could be philadelphia, Minnesota, Washington, Detroit and chicago. now people will say we wont trade our pick so be it but there are some very good offensive guys in picks 15-22 so dont be suprised.......

Now for my draft, that may shock or excite you.........

    1. WR James Hardy- This guy combined with Marshall would create some of the best mismatches in the league. people already have problems defending marshall, so imagine a guy slightly taller and just as powerful....our redzone pass game would greatly improve with the height of this guy. But wait he can stretch the field as well with a 4.47 40 at his size, he could roll over safties and corners just as marshall does. he has very good hands and had a very good offseason. He also could be an answer when marshall gets double teams next year. take away marshall and guess what we have the same type of guy on the other side, this leaves stokley wide open down the seams with scheff. Cutler would benfit greatly. First rd recivers are risk but this guy should blossom. especially with a qb like cutler. and i'm sure i will have plenty of posters saying this is stupid i want bennet in the second instead.....well why do that when there are good DT's to be had in the second and not in the 1st?

    alternate pick: OG BRANDON ALBERT

    2. DT Dre Moore- the guy excels against the run but is very good at holding the line while getting to the qb. he would be a good rookie and should improve our DT roation right away. had a very good offseason and is well worth the pick. with laws and simms off the board this seems like the perfect guy to work into slowiks scheme opposite thomas and mckinely.

    2. DT ahyba Rubin- this guy is a reach currently at this pick but come draft day this wont be the case he is a very good run stopper and can plug the gaps, as well as being able top draw some double teams. again 2 DT's makes alot of sense in this draft especially when they have talent like these guys.

    3. OL John greco- this guy is very versatile and can play inside and out, very good speed for his size, as well as good power up top. very good depth for our tackle and guard positions, especially when kuper is back-up. hamilton and holland should suit just fine at guard but if one of them gets injured i would like some depth, not to mention grooming this guy to take hamiltons spot could pay-off in the long run after hamilton slides to center or retires.

    Alternate Pick: WR Andre Caldwell

4a. OL Kirk Barton- killer off-season, would proivide very good depth at OL as well as a good back-up for RT or LT. Has good upper power and can hold blocks well, good in both pass and run blocking.

4b. OLB wesely woodyard- while he may be small for olb, the chances DJ walks next year in FA are likely. Grooming this guy for that spot would help alot. he can blitz, and cover well, and is a very aggresive hitter and tackler. He has the tangibles to become a big defensive leader. Not to mention we need special teams help and this guy could give us a kieth burns like talent on special teams

5a. FB brandon mcanderson- Blocked for a guy that ran for 800 plus yds and scored 7 td's as well as blocked for a QB that had all the time in the world to throw kansas to a good bowl. oh wait what did he do that peyton hills, jacob hester, and owen schmitt couldnt? he scored 16 td's on 1000 yds rushing as a power FB. he can block quite well, and even has the ability to catch out of the backfield. oh yeah i cant begin to express how much his power could help our redzone rushing when henry is hurt and selvin is dancing!

5b. S dominique barber- good upside and very good agains the run. could fit well in our scheme as a strong safety as he is an aggresive hitter and tackler. he also brings character and work ethic and has the possibilty of becoming a very good defensive leader as well. guys like this may not start right away but they bring work ethich to a team that really needs it.

7a. Mike Drago- we need a punter and this guy fared pretty well for his last team, strong and accurate leg

7b. K connor barth- the guy was very efficient from 40 yds plus last year

now i missed RB,TE and DE but i think we will survive

this is what i advocate and think we don from here on out!!!!!

Calling for James Hardy to be savior for your recieving game shouldnt be popular... but who knows maybe Bronco fans like the kid.
Club Leader: Robert Griffin III > Andrew Luck

Hardy is good but I prefer a burner such as Jackson or Thomas.

i never said he was our savior, our recieving game actually wasnt very anemic last year compared to some teams we played, and walker was out just about the whole season. so i am not calling for a savior we have ours in marshall, but i would love to see the other teams try and figure out how to guard marshall, this kid, and stokley and schef when we are in their redzone. he wont be our savior but he sure will be a pain in opposing teams asses. hell i dont even want a reciver in the 1st but i am willing for this guy simply because the mismatches are so much in our favor. we have already seen what a guy marshall size can do, and hardy is just as fast and slightly bigger and stronger than marshall, i can only imagine.....

jackson will be a devin hester like player not a Full time NFL wide out, and devin thomas is a little over rated right now after his workouts. i like the kid but there are recievers with much better production.

also just because hardy runs a 4.47 doesnt mean he cant get deep or open like those other guys. its easy to get open when you can bully a corner right off the line because of your size. i would be willing to bet that jackson will struggle when he is faced with a corner that will bump him at the line.

DeSean will be Devin Hester on returns, and Santana Moss or maybe even Steve Smith on receptions. We need a good returner too, something Hardy won't be.

He is so explosive off the line that CB's will risk getting burnt if they are too aggressive on bump and run and jamming him.

I dislike Jackson as well, but Devin Thomas is still a "?" to me. I think he will go before he should though with all the hype he has been getting.

Malcom Kelly will be the best WR, and after him it will be somebody later. Maybe Bennet, or Franklin one of the guys that you will get in the mid rounds of the draft.

Oh, and with the bullying a CB off the line.. Thats great, and it will get him a step... but he wont be able to keep the step so it pretty much voided.

Talkin big, huh? We'll see if you can withstand the temptation. The mock is OK and I wouldn't mind it, except for the fact that I think if we want a WR we should trade down and get more picks.

U make a good case for yr FB selection, but Id rather have Schmitt because of his ability to play, and play well, other positions besides FB--TE, H-back, HB, flanker, tackle, KR, punter--plus I really dont think folks here understand how smart and coachable he is, how intense he plays, how powerful his blocks are, how he has his biggest games when they count for something--and usually playing hurt thru them--like the last 3 WVU bowl games, how strong and fast he is for a dude his size, and that he has that terrific blue-collar work ethic personality with great leadership abilities. Hellooo, MS, methinks U need pure players like this....

I have a feeling yr FB selection, like most of the other 2008 FBs with which this draft is deep, will take a couple years to integrate into any NFL system. Barring serious injury, OS can and will contribute immediately to any team that drafts him. If we cant get him, I hope an NFC team does so he can do his damage over there.

Oh and message to Mikey: Draft Earl Bennett. you will not be disappointed (and neither will JC)

why that one step is all he needs especially when he is seven inches taller than alot of cb's in this league, i will take methodical clock eating drives all day long instead of a big play, cause when these guys get in the redzone look out!

i like schmitt but i feel he will be gone even before we have a chance to think about him and i am not willing to sacrifice getting help for our o-line in the 3rd and 4th for him......

i got us an extra second rd pick by trading down between 15-22 and taking hardy so we can get 2 DT's in the second rd.

thats true but once you jam him its gonna be hard for him especially if the route is a ten yard out, think the qb wants to wait?????? the only thing jackson is good for is the deep ball and shanny doesnt play that game.....
