"More than a dozen former University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football players lingered in and around the weight room at McKenzie Arena on Monday morning. They were there to participate in UTC’s pro day workouts, but nobody from any of the NFL’s 32 teams attended, so the event was canceled. Strength and conditioning coach Scott Brincks said it was very unlikely that the event will be rescheduled. It was originally set for March 6, which likely would have been a more favorable date for the scouts, but was moved back 11 days to give some of the players more time to prepare. Now the players are left scrambling, hoping somehow to keep alive their hopes of being late-round draft picks or free-agent signees. The NFL draft is April 26-27. "I just want a chance to put up some numbers," cornerback Brandon Golder said."

That is terrible. It's one thing not to get drafted. It's another thing that they weren't even looked at by anybody. Poor guys.sigpicComment

Besides that, 11 days isn't going to make a whole lot of difference. You're not shaving off .05 seconds on your 40 in 11 days.Comment

Ok these guys are looking for scouts to throw them a bone and attend their work out day so in-turn they reschedule it. Kind of a slap in the face if you ask me.

That's like FINALLY getting that interview for the dream job and then asking to reschedule because you "need more preparation."
Life doesn't work that way and the proof is right there. It's not like one or two scouts blew them off. EVERYONE did.Comment

Well, I don't really know but it specifically says the "players." No reference to the administration needing more preparation.

The scouts were pretty busy today. The rescheduled date was very poorly choosen...
