  • Bowie's latest mock

I wanted to do a mock with a WR in the 1st sinci I haven't done one yet so here we go.

I want to trade down since this is WR in the 1st, and I think Detroit is the most likely partner. We trade our 1st to Detroit for their 1st and 4th.

1.) Devin Thomas WR This is a reach here, but I don't think we'd be able to trade down and still get him. Washington is a possibility, but only if they want Merling bad enough. Thomas is an explosive receiver and a good KR which is what we really need at WR.

2.) Ahtyba Rubin DT He is a big, strong guy. A great run-blocker that has to be double-teamed.

4a.) Duane Brown OT Jeremy Zuttah if he falls but I doubt if he will. Brown offers depth and may be a future starter.

4b.) Taylor Melhaff K Melhaff is good kicker that probably won't replace Elam, but he'll be solid.

4c.) Chris Ellis DE/OLB He probably wouldn't be an OLB in our system, but he is fast for a DE. He can bulk up some, but he would probably only be brought in on passing downs as he is a sack specialist.

5.) Peyton Hills FB He may or may not be here, but since Sapp is only signed for one year he'd be a nice pickup.

6.) Jamie Silva S Again, he is a sleeper of mine I really like.

7.) Mike Dragosavich P We need a punter, plain as that.

Hope you like it. Some of the picks aren't set in concrete yet as I'm doing a little more research but I wanted to post this.

    Interesting stuff.

I think I'd rather have Chris Williams and Will Franklin than Devin Thomas and Duane Brown though.

If we do go 1st round WR, I prefer Hardy to Thomas.

No need to take Mehlhaff in the 4th, he could probably be had in the 5th or 6th. I would replace him with Okam there.

Overall it's a pretty good mock although we differ on which players we like and where to take them.

if we needed a safety/fb/and DE it wouldnt be a bad draft............but we dont.

thomas is a prospect with upside but i would prefer someone proven like sweed or hardy.

i like the rubin and duane brown picks but duane brown wont suffice as our only back-up to harris and pears we need at least 1 more tackle.

1 dt will suffice just fine.

overall it doesnt really refelct our needs entirely, but good try.....

Nothing wrong with it... except for Duane Brown. Denver probably wants and OT in the first 2. If not, then no need to take one.
Club Leader: Robert Griffin III > Andrew Luck

        ^^^Get used to it.^^^

I won't argue about Thomas because that is just a matter of opinion. As far as needs, you're right DE isn't a need it's a luxury pick. As for FB and S, I disagree and agree. Sapp is here for only one year, and his future here is up in the air. I don't think our safeties are a permanent solution, of course Silva may not be either but for a 6th round pick it is worth the gamble. So yes they aren't needs now, but they probably will be soon.
