  • addressing safety position in draft?

I really dont like this draft for safeties but If I take one it is gonna be Tom Zbikowski from Notre Dame. Best thing I love about him is his nasty personality, no smiles during whole combine-- GOTTA LOVE it. Draft him!

I think if we do get one it will be a guy with big upside later in the draft. I like Jonathan Hefney because of his special teams capability, and Josh Barrett because of his tangibles.

Barrett is gonna be a 3rd or 4th round pick, I'd pick him up in the 4th though.

We might take a flier in the draft for somebody around the 5th, similar to what the Ravens did for Dawan Landry or the Giants for Gibril Wilson.

The key is finding those sleepers, but in the later rounds, BPA is usually the best priority.

As a sleeper I like jamie silva, a little under sized but hits like lynch.

If we take a safety I hope we take a chance on the guy from Boston College Jamie Silva. He isnt really quick but seems to be always in position to make a play.Sort of this yrs version of Eric Weddle.

All three of these Safeties mentioned are the ones I would Target. I love Hefney his awareness and instincts on the field are amazing, I have seen him draw comparisons to Bob Sanders, he needs to put on a little more size but irregardless he'll still come up and hit you in the mouth. He is gonna be a good FS in this draft.

Hitting people in the mouth is what Tom Zibikowski does, on and off the field. He was a good player on a bad team, but like above poster said he is all business. I think he would be a great replacement for Lynch

Both of the guys above can return punts so they provide upgrade there also.

Barrett was a top prospect until he was injured and then he kind of fell off the radar, I think he will probably go in the third round, but if he falls to us he would be a good pick up too.

As far as Silva, I think he will probably be good special teams player, his speed is really bad, and although his instincts and mental aptitude for the game are top notch, I think the speed of the NFL might be too much for him as a safety.
