  • New Mock Draft.....

Okay well first lets get some trades down right? foxworth for a 3rd and maybe we even trade down to the 17-20 range regardless, we should end up with plenty of picks just by getting a 3rd for fox on draft day if we are lucky.

As much as i would like to trade down, i dont think its going to happen.........

OH WAIT I JUST REMEBERED I CANT DO ANYMORE MOCKS TILL DRAFT DAY OR I"M A LOSER......lol GOTCHA

No what i really want to talk about is what strategy shanny might use for the draft after watching all last seasons press confrences and reading the articles, I really am starting to think shanny is going to pull a full trenches draft. I mean after everything thats gone on, i think denver knows its trenches our a big issue and not really the fault of skill players.

Now i am not saying a skill wr/or rb wouldnt help but i really do belive that we will draft nothing but o-line and d-line, my mock in my sig is what i want but i feel i may be off base quite a bit.

Shanny said he envied the lines of the cowboys and patriots, and the d-line of the titans and jaguars my guess is he will do everything in his power to use as many picks as possible on the lines to get in that direction, i wouldnt be suprised to see tons of rookie lineman in camp next year. Shanny made that comment while alot of current guys were on the roster that makes me think he wants alot of competion and the weak will be weeded out.

What do u guys think? could you imagine a draft like this..........

    1. OT
    2. DT
    3. OL
    4. OL
    4. OL
    5. DE
    5. C
    6. DE
    7. P
    7. K

wow im am not sure if i would be shocked, pissed or happy. i actually think i wouldnt be to upset about it but man these boards would explode.............

If Denver drafts 5 OL a kicker and a punter in the same draft.I will not only be pissed I will be suicidal

I can see Denver drafting 2 OT and maybe a true Center but no more then 3.

I think any draft day formula/Mock that has 2 OT and 2 DT WR,LB in it is off to a really good start.

I already believe it will happen. Just not how rest of you think it will happen.

I truly think the 1st or 2nd rounders or hell even both picks might be someone who none of us ever dreamed of.

I believe Shanny will still grab a FA OL and DT b4 the season starts.

Finally I think Denver does like they did last year and trade most of their picks to move up in the draft so only look at Denver drafting 4 or 5 players.

The wildcard in the whole draft now is the health of Brandon Marshall. He won't be out of the cast until draft time, and he wont be fully healed until Training Camp.

Does Shanahan just stay the course and follow the current draft plan or does he alter it?

I wouldn't be totally pissed if they went all trenches, I think that they must throw in a WR/KR and maybe a RB somewhere though, also I think they should really look into gettin a Punter like Durant Brooks and a kicker like Taylor Mehlhaff!

            My Trench-heavy mock would look a little like this;

            1. OT Ryan Clady or Chris Williams
            2. DT Trevor Laws or Kentwan Balmer
            3. * from Foxy* RB Tashard Choice
            4. WR/KR Dexter Jackson
            4. DT Frank Okam
            5. C Jamey Richard
            5. P Durant Brooks
            6. K Taylor Mehlhaff
            7. OT Tyler Polumbus
            7. DT Lorenzo Williams

            Something like that!!!

Not bad but a jamey richard or steve justice never. 5th and 6th for a punter and kicker is too high maybe with both 7th's. Would like to trade down and do something like my signature. Would give us a young and hopefully dominate offensive and defensive lines.

Heres the positions I want addressed

2 DT's, one run stopper, one penetrater,
2 OT, One who can play LT and one who can play both.
1 CB, If we trade Foxy
1 OL, Guy who can play G or T if we need him to
1 WR, Speed guy possibly return man
                1 K/P, to compete
                1 RB, Why not
                1 LB, Young depth

I know my mock doesnt fit this exactly but if we can make picks on those positions I would be happy.

The boards will explode, regardless of what the draft turns out to be. At least judging by how the boards reacted to the last two drafts.

I think this place went into melt down when we drafted Jay Cutler 2 years ago...

I've learned not to expect any particular player from the draft, as the chances of obatining said player usually dont work...hence the melt-down

Either way, us mods will be around, merging and deleting and IPing...and merging some more...and deleting some more...and merging....

                  ahh...the joys!

Ryan or Clady, and Laws or Balmer would be a successful draft in my mind. Throw in a RB prospect (remember that Shanahan could find a RB among the undrafted FAs or off the waiver wire again just as he has in recent seasons (Selvin Young, Andre Hall). While this will never please the drones demanding a "franchise back" they can get excited about, it does fill a need on the cheap.

It's been going on for years and whether you like it or not, it may well continue. Shanahan may conclude that he doesn't need to spend a high draft pick on a RB, he'll just pick over the waiver wire and grab somebody who's been cut to fill out the roster in the event that one of the top 3 guys goes down, or to come in and compete for a roster spot.

I wouldn't be at all unhappy with most of this draft. But, I do think the Broncos will probably look for a RB and WR/KR/PR somewhere -- perhaps in the 4th or 5th rounds.

SO, while I don't expect them to go ALL OL/DL, I would be very happy if they spent the majority of their draft picks there. And I would like to see the Broncos trade back in the first, take a DT late in the round to make sure they got their choice of Balmer, Laws or whoever they wanted.

That makes a lot of sense since Sedrick Ellis and Dorsey will be gone and it's too early for Balmer or Laws at #12. But, unless somebody is ready to pay the price to move up to get a player (Dallas comes to mind) it just won't happen).

If this was the draft I would be so happy. We address every need cept LB but we only have so many picks. I think Clady is going to be a total stud in year 1. Jackson has a lot of slot and return potential. Choice ...I am ok with. Haven't seen him play so just going off of measurables (I think I would rather have Chris Johnson). Brooks and Mehlhaff will be great here

no disrespect intended, but most of these "mocks" overlook one key position that's deep in this year's draft: the true, dyed in the blood, bruising stud FB or FB/TE that this team has never bothered to replace since Griffith retired. This is an absolutely key and essential position for our O to improve on the one thing they sucked HORRIBLY at last year: the ability to convert downs on short yardage. Owen Schmitt, Peyton Hillis, Carl Stewart--any one of these guys could come in and have an immediate impact on our running and short passing games. (I'm not big on J Hester, I see him more as a utility/swing back like Sapp.)

Case in point: go back to the mid-1990s, and U will see how adding Howard the Human Plow boosted our O, and TD's running, to the next level. no broncomaniac anywhere could dispute this fact.

Sorry guys but what we have now won't cut the cake. If we don't improve at this position then we will be in the same boat as last year, with Sapp and Bell trying to play a position they are simply not suited for. We need someone that *wants* to clock and level the first defender, who *wants* to lead block and do the dirty work. This draft is full of players like this, so let's get a couple and have them compete for the starting job.

Then, let's see how our current RB crop can do behind someone who's only job is to clear that path.

5th and 6th might be a little high. But I would rather take them early then miss on them late....Besides it is a serious weakness for us. They would be impact players for us in thier rookie seasons. When is it bad to get rookie production out of late round picks
