  • Mendenhall is perfect for us!!!! Cutler-Mendenhall-Marshall-Sheffler. Wow!

We need to take this guy with our first rounhd pick. He is going to be special and in our system he would be a beast! Cutler, Mendenhall, Marshall, Sheffler. Wow!

He reminds me a little of Marshawn Lynch (last years number 12 pick)!

      except stronger and faster

although i would rather pick another position of need in the first

it just makes me sad that we really can not grab one of the great backs in this draft because of our many holes

There is no reason to take a RB in the first round right now.

Add a good WR in the second round. Maybe Bennett.

          ONLY if we sign Robertson!!!!

Look we have so many needs that it will not hurt to gab him in the first. We can get a tackle later on. This guy is too talented to pass on.

I think that if Clady's gone and we don't trade down, he will be our pick at #12.

why does signing a DT change everyones mind on the first round pick? we wouldnt have got a DT at 12, so why would DR change that pick. I would still take the best OT left and then use our 2nd for a skill player (rb or wr).

Clady and Williams are rare elite prospects for the zone-blocking scheme and too talented to pass on. We can get a running back later on.
Hoping for a defensive-minded head coach and a return to the ZBS on offense. At the very least, no more cheaters for head coach.

I agree. Kill two birds with one stone, help the running game and protect cutler.

Exactly!!! We can get a quality back in the later rounds. Mendenhall would be great in our system. He is fast and powerful; makes quick cuts. At this point though, there are more pressing needs, and with a couple of backs that are better than average it is not something we should use a top pick on.

There will ALWAYS be top running backs in EVERY draft. Someone will have a breakout season.

When we actually have respectable lines on both sides of the ball...then we take a RB.

This is the highest draft pick we've had in a long time and our best chance to actually pick up an elite OT. Clady and Williams (as stated above) are two very very good prospects for out type of scheme.

Ya'll just wait and see what Travis Henry can actually do if we put together a legit line.

I used to support getting a RB in the later rounds but I don't anymore. If Shanny doesn't think Henry and Young are enough why would he pass on Mendenhall? That doesn't make sense.

I agree, we must fix our line problems first. Since we signed Henry again I don't think a RB in the first is what we need. Maybe he'll live up to the expectations I had on him going into last year.

I agree. We need a stud LT not only for depth, but because I'm not sold on Ryan Harris and his recent back surgery. I want Chris Williams protecting JC's blindside, and Im sure others here will agree.

Besides, we need a real FB--not a tweener conversion ie Sapp and Bell--to block in short yardage and RZ situations, not any more RBs.
