  • My mind is set!!!

There have been many debates on what we should do in the draft, the general consensus says we should build the lines up and that is fine by me. I have absolutely no problem taking an OT at 12 or even a DT if one falls, this would be perfect.

However, no matter what we do in round 1 I am sold on RB Chris Johnson at pick 42 (if he is even available!)

In the recent weeks I've watched video on him and have read everything there is to read about him and I am on board. He reminds me so much of Clinton Portis it is unreal, I even see a little (young L.T.) in him.

This kid does not only run a 4.24 forty but he also very shifty and has great hands out of the backfield. He has amazing potential as a Kick Returner and may succeed at Punt Returner if asked to, he has lined up at reciever and plays with tremendous heart, will do anything asked of him.

The only, and I mean only, knock on him is his size, at 5'11" 197 lbs he is a little on the small size and may not be able to take a full load right away, the beauty of this is we have Travis Henry so we can ease Johnson along, let him return kicks, be a change of pace back and let him slowly develop.

Before anyone says "well we already have Selvin Young" and compares the 2 let me ask you this "are you kidding me?" , Johnson is so much more explosive and has a much higher ceiling!

I would love to watch this kid develop in our system, put on 10-15 lbs, and be our feature back in 09', this is exactly the kind of game-breaker our offense needs, Jay will thank Mike for this one, trust me!

I would not be upset if the Broncos drafted a RB-Chris Johnson

I also like Kevin Smith,Jamaal Charles as well.

If the Broncos would draft BPA:RB I think they would draft DT with the first pick hopefully trading down out of the #12 pick.

    1.DT -Pat Sims, Auburn

    2.RB- Chris Johnson (E. Carolina)

    3.WR-Earl Bennett, Vanderbilt

    4.OT-Jeremy Zuttah, Rutgers

    4.DT-Nick Hayden, Wisconsin

    5.CB-Jack Ikegwuonu, Wisconsin

    5.OG- Mike Fladell, Rutgers

    6. WR/PR Arman Shields (Richmond)

    7. K Piotr Czech (Wagner)

    7. MLB Steve Allen (West Tex. A&M)

This kid reminds me of reggie bush and thats not a good thing... Yes i could see him as an amazing kick punt returner but not as a RB he always wants to get to the sidelines and when he does run between the tackles after the first hit his feet are gone aka "bush"... id rather pick up bennett wr

My only wish for this draft and its not gonna happen but chris williams will protect cutler so he can throw so its ok....

so really you just take the typical smaller RB stereotype and place it on johnson

he runs tough as hell through the middle, he may not be good at it as some but he definately does not go down as easy as bush he is a strong kid too and he has incredible speed to make up for his deficiencies up the middle (which really are not that big of a deal)

bush has always been a special play guy aka reverses and such. johnson is a pure RB has good moves blazing speed and ok power

i would love him with the 2nd rounder

Hopefully we will never need him to be the short yardage back. If I had it my way we would have Owen Schmitt for that. I think this kid (who has been slipping lately) would be an excellent 2nd rounder, preferably if we can trade down in the 2nd and get an extra 4th. - like my sig

I'm ready to have some fun watching the Broncos next year, and it would be a lot easier if we had an exciting player like Chris Johnson.

He is Reggie Bush w/o the hype... and unlike ChineseChicken... I dont think that is a bad thing.

Chris Johnson will never be an every down back... and certainly isnt Clinton Portis. However, he is an explosive playmaker. Like Bush, in order to maximize his potential, you need to be creative with him. Move him around, line him up in different places to create mismatches. Use him on screens and other plays designed to get him in the open field...

He is more of a weapon than a RB... and could be very valuabe to an offense.

With that said, hes not what you need. He is a player you take if you already have a great between the tackles runner...

              Draft Kevin Smith...

I kinda forgot about Henry. Whats the deal with Henry? Wasnt there talk of him being cut?

And really, you cant really depend on Henry. He has a hard time staying out of trouble when off the field... and has trouble staying healthy when on the field.

Hes talented, but he isnt someone who you can truely depend on, ya know?

So Reggie Bush isn't worth a 2nd round pick? I could live with Chris Johnson at 42......

Gimme a DT in the second, or we can have another fun season of watching Cutler and his shiny new RB siting on the bench watching the other guys.

I hear a lot of people saying we should waste a first or second round pick on a runninback. Now here is my question to all that figure know it all.

Does any body recognice any of this names?

                            Travis Henry
                            Selving Young
                            Andre Hall
                            Mike Bell
                            Cecil Sapp
                            Marquis Weeks

The answer is simple they are great talent for the Denver Broncos who are able to show it with an awfull front 5. So imagin what they can do if we get them a good line. People O-line isnt just for pass protect they also run block if we have no one that can do it you can put whom ever you want and the outcome will be the same.

I recognized all the names except that last one who is he ??Marquis Weeks

You also bring up a valid point as well.

I think the Broncos can draft one or two players from a skill position from any round.

Logistically I think most fans understand that DT/OT are by far the most glaring needs.

But just because the Broncos draft 1 or 2 players from a skill position.

Does not mean that they will not still be able to address both OT/DT heavly in the draft.

Do I think the Broncos will draft Chris Johnson? (E. Carolina) No

Do I think the Broncos need Chris Johnson?(E. Carolina) No

Would I be mad if they drafted him? No

Would I like to see what Mike Shanahan could do with any rookie RB?Yes

Running Back is very low on my need scale but if the Broncos would happen to draft a running back I will be all for it.

Unless that running back is Mike Hart
