Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

So Reggie Bush isn't worth a 2nd round pick? I could live with Chris Johnson at 42......
That was my immediate thought, too. A Reggie Bush type back at pick 42 would be ok in my book.
That said, I don't know that this pick would be best for the Broncos given the other areas where there seems to be more "need." I might be more in favor of going the route of a WR (pun intended) in the second.
I just heard about proday results from USC, Ellis had 37bench press results and real good vertical leap, I think we should try to make a deal with patriots to pick him up in 1st round, if he is available then.
Travis Henry
Selving Young
Andre Hall
Mike Bell
Cecil Sapp
Marquis Weeks
well travis henry was the leading rusher after 5 weeks so your saying our line isnt good...yes we need help there but not in the 1st round... mendenhall is better then any of our guys other then henry but the guy is a distraction and get hurt every year...young is good but cant run between the tackles hes to small and losses his feet after the first hit hall great back up not started quility bell also not a started but a beast on the goal line should use him there more....
my back is killing me from carryin you ur hole career
I would shoot myself if we pick Johnson in the second when he's clearly a third rounder. He's not what we need from a RB, we need a guy who can drive and be able to block and catch. That's what Mendenhall is, a guy who can be more than just a situational back. I'd choose Kevin Smith before I choose Johnson.

You're probably right, we could either go for another Clinton Portis (Johnson) or Mike Anderson (Smith).
We need a game-breaker!!!
WE need to focus on the men in the trenches that is where the came is won and lost pick up Clady from Boise State and pick up a couple quality run stoppers on the D Line
ive come to the conclusion that people here really have NO freaking clue as to what they are talking about, aside from a few most posts are based on other crap they saw on here by another misinformed poster
or they look at a highlight clip to judge a guy.
people look at size and make conclusions and stereotypes based on other players built like them.
reggie bush has ALWAYS been a WR type back, even in college he never carried the load nor was counted on to get tough yards. Johnson is a straight up talented running back. he runs tough for his size and has excellent hands and not to mention the speed (the speed is intriguing to say the least)
if you want to compare CJ to a RB do so to Portis and you know what he was damn good here despite him not being a fan fav for leaving and i would love another CP in our backfield.
give me a game breaker over a grind out the yards back anyday and if he is avail in the second i think we should jump on that
As long as the Broncos get either Clady or Williams in the first, I don't care who they get in the second. With Henry on the team, they might do well to get a speed burner that can also return kicks or punts.
You're Wrong! Recognize That You're Wrong!
Move On

I wouldnt compare CJ to Portis at all...
I've watched CJ play a lot. UCF faces him in our conference. The kid is a stud... and absolutly destroyed us.
However, he is more of the receiving type back at the next level. And that is in no way a bad thing. If anything, its a good thing b/c players like him are rare. He is a guy that can be utilized in multiple ways... and a mismatch nightmare. He is absolutly dangerous in the open field... and a threat to take it to the house at any moment.
He isnt a guy that you will want to run 20+ times a game between the tackles. It would be a complete mis-use of his talents. In terms of running plays, you are going to want to design plays the get him to the outside quickly, like pitch and stretch plays... where he could really utilize his speed and quickness.
You wont want to judge his production based on his "carries"... but more on his "touches". You will want to be creative with how you use him. Maybe around 5-10 carries and around 10 receptions per game. Get him around 20 touches... not carries.
Hes a guy that will help move the chains, but not in the traditional fashion...

i agree, i dont think there are any receivers worth taking around the time of our second pick. and he would be a significant upgrade to picking D Jackson as a kick returner
