  • Bengals cut Henry...a possibility in Denver? (Merged)

The Bengals released troubled wide receiver Chris Henry on Thursday, a day after he turned himself in to police to face a possible assault charge.

It appears as if they have finally had enough of him. I'd say let's get him, but I don't think he will ever change. The Bengals gave him like five chances and kept screwing up, I suppose he will probably be a Raider now.

    Bengals | Team waives Henry
    Thu, 3 Apr 2008 08:49:29 -0700

The Cincinnati Bengals announced Thursday, April 3, that the team waived WR Chris Henry.

I do not say we get him but Cincy's WR problems may have them changing there mind what to draft before us. That DT may still be there.

Bengals cut Henry...a possibility in Denver?

Now I know what everyone's thinking, this is just another thread of the form "_________ got cut, the Broncos should pick him up!!!!!!11!" Well for the most part it is I suppose. And most people will also say that Henry would be way too big of a risk. But please at least hear me out.

I live in Cincy so I got to see this kid play more than most...and if he ever gets his act together he could be devastating. He has ENORMOUS potential; with all of his off-field distractions he still played at a high level, I can only imagine what he'd do when his full attention was on football solely.

Yes he has major, major baggage with him but you know Shanahan would kick him out the door after one such incident. What I'm saying is that I think his upside is just so enormous that it's almost worth the risk.

          No frickin way.

First off, he's looking at a minimum of a year suspension. he lost half of last season for this same thing...so I would think a year would be the least he'll get.

Not to mention that this guy's bar is set SO low...I mean it's basically "don't get arrested" and he still finds a way to continuously slide under it.

I knew it wouldn't take much time before a thread suggesting we pick this loser up surfaced.

He needs to start looking for gigs in Canada or the Arena League...he should be done in the NFL.

He's very talented but there's a reason only the Bengals were willing to draft him where they did. He's an idiot, a bad role model, and a criminal, no thank you.

Sorry, you can not add yourself to your own ignore list.

No thanks, let him go to a place like philly or dallas and serve his year suspension there.`

Sign him. But only for Lynch, Mcree, Abdullah and Manuel's target practice.

You pretty much answered your own thread.

But please at least hear me out.
There's nothing to hear. This guy is a piece of human garbage. No way in hell the Broncos need this kind of crap on the team.

I think he's done in the NFL. If he couldn't straighten out up to this point, even with the Bungles keeping him around, I don't think he will.

I have always liked that Denver has been a program that has class. Henry would not fit in at this point. He has the ability to go on and do great things in the NFL. At this time the key word is abilty

I just hope this makes Cincy go WR or trade down with someone not looking for a DT. With Chad being uncertain and more problems with Henry this could chnge Cincy's pick in the draft.
                        Henry is a loser!

It's not though. He has shown, through actions, that he is not committed to the NFL.

He's likely 1 more incident away from a big time suspension.

He would be nothing more than a wasted roster spot and the closest thing to "dead money" you can actually get from an active player.

I'm pretty sure he will be suspended.

He just got in trouble for punching an 18 year-old and breaking a car window with a beer bottle.
