I know that this goes against every thing many Denver fans feel in their gut, which is, don't make deals with teams in your conference.
But, here me out, and tell me what you think.
First, with the trade KC has made with Minnesota, they recieved Minny's 1st round pick(#17) and both 3rd round picks(#73 and #82), giving KC a total of 13 picks in this year's draft. They could use all those picks on players, or they could use them for ammunition to move up. Since making the deal, all the buzz is that KC could now use their #5 pick on one of the avaliable DEs or even Matt Ryan and then go OT at #17. I say that they would like to move up ahead of Carolina and Chicago to grab that OT.
So here's my mock. The entire NFL for the first 2 rounds, and then who I think Denver takes with their remaining picks.
ROUND ONE
#1 - Miami - OT, Jake Long, Michigan
#2 - St. Louis - DE, Chris Long, Virginia
#3 - Atlanta - QB, Matt Ryan, Boston College
#4 - Oakland - RB, Darren McFadden, Arkansas
#5 - Kansas City - DE, Vernon Gholston, Ohio State
#6 - NY Jets - CB, Leodis McKelvin, Troy
#7 - New England - OT/OG, Brandon Albert, Virginia
#8 - Baltimore - OT, Ryan Clady, Boise State
#9 - Cincinnati - DT, Sedrick Ellis, USC
#10 - New Orleans - CB, Mike Jenkins, South Florida
#11 - Buffalo - WR, Devin Thomas, Michigan State
Now herein lies KC's dilema. They can wait and watch us draft an OT, leaving them only 2 choices. Hope like everything that Otah or Williams falls past Carolina and Chicago. Or they can wait and reach for Gosder at #17. Or the third choice would be to move up.
*The Denver Broncos trade their #12 pick to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for their #17 pick(1st round), their #73 pick(third round) and their #170 pick(6th round)*
#12 - Kansas City - OT, Chirs Williams, Vanderbilt
#13 - Carolina - OT, Jeff Otah, Pittsburg
#14 - Chicago - RB, Rashard Mendenhall, Illinois
#15 - Detriot - CB, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Tennessee State
#16 - Arizona - DE, Phillip Merling, Clemson
#17 - Denver - RB, Jonathan Stewart, Oregon
#18 - Houston - FS, Kenny Phillips, Miami
#19 - Philadelphia - DE, Derrick Harvey, Florida
#20 - Tampa Bay - WR, DeSean Jackson, California
#21 - Washington - DE, Calais Campbell, Miami
#22 - Dallas - WR, Malcom Kelly, Oklahoma

#29 - San Francisco - LB, Keith Rivers, USC
#30 - Green Bay - CB, Antonie Cason, Arizona
#31 - New York Giants - CB, Aqib Talib, Kansas

#43 - Carolina - FS, Tyrell Johnson, Arkansas State
#44 - Chicago - WR, Mario Manningham, Michigan
#45 - Detroit - LB, Xavier Adibi, Virginia Tech
#46 - Cincinnati - DE, Lawrence Jackson, USC
#47 - Minnesota - FS, DaJuan Morgan, North Carolina State
#48 - Atlanta - OG, Roy Schuening, Oregon State

#61 - Dallas - CB, Terrell Thomas, USC
#62 - New England - LB, Cliff Arvil, Purdue

5b - Peyton Hillis
