People say because he is probably in waiting to get the number he wants. I think a scrub has 84, maybe he's waiting on the scrub to get cut. *shrugs* It's the rule, receivers can only have numbers in the 10s and 80s.

    I see this:

Clady #76 (Thomas will not give his number up)
Royal #84 (it's available and it has a 4 in it)
    Lichtensteiger #78 (his college number)
    Williams #42 (see Royal)
    Torain #26 (his college number)
Powell #93 (about the only 90's number left)
    Larsen #59 (only 50's numberleft)
Barrett #49 (could be the next Dennis Smith)
Hillis #44 (a good FB number)

Speaking of numbers Boss Bailey just got his.

Introducing Linebacker from the University of Georgia.

    #90

    BOSS BAILEY!!!!!!!!
Receivers cannot have single digit numbers, he cannot wear 4.

Also, 14 is taken by Stokely. So unless he goes with 84, he will not have a 4 in his number

DB numbers must be above 20 and less than 50.
Backers have to be in the 50s and maybe 40s.
    Receivers can also be #80-#89.
I think the 90s are reserved for DL.
    OL must be #51-#79.
I think RBs must use #20-#49.
    DL can also use #50-#79.
    Accually:
    offense:
    QB, K,P 1-19
    WR: 10-19, 80-89
    RB: 20-49
    TE: 40-49,80-90
    OL: 50-79

    Defense:
    DL: 60-79*,90-99
    LB: 40-59, 90-99
    DB: 20-49

*some DL use 50-59 because they have been earlier listed as LB, in OL you can´t put a TE in as OT without changing his jersey number because you need at least 5 guys on the OL with numbers 50-79

Will rookies get their college numbers?

    Rookie/ Coll.#/ Currently assigned to
    Clady 79 Marcus Thomas
    Royal 4 Hackney
    Lichtensteiger 78 available
    Williams 2 Paulescu
    Torain 26 available
    Powell 99 McKinley
    Larsen 51 Winborn
    Barrett 19 Jacobs
    Hillis 22 Foxworth
    Woodyard 16 available
    Aldridge 22 Foxworth
    Kern 41 Paymah
    Hartley 10 available
    Polumbus 77 Birdine
    Erickson 61 available
    Sam 3 available

I think the NFL allows receivers to have numbers less than #20.

Regardless of whether he stays at LB or moves to SS, Wesley Woodyard must change his number. Hillis and Aldridge must both change. Williams will need a new #. Powell, Polumbus, Barrett, Larsen and Kern must change. Torain, Hartley, Erickson and Sam may keep their college numbers. Kory "Panzer" Lichtensteiger can keep #78. Unless Hackney is cut, Royal will need a new#. Yeah, I know.

Sorry about the jumbled nature of the format above. I'm stupid about computers. It's a miracle I can even do this.

not possible for Royal, Barrett, Jack williams (all not possible for their respective positions) and Hillis (22 belongs to Foxy)

However, I can see Clady, Powell, Licht, Larsen, torain all keeping their college numbers.
