Another bad turn

Well after being projected to go as early as the 1st round another bad event has happened to Eagle's rookie CB Jack Ikegwuono. After suffering a serious knee injury his draft stock rapidly fell and now the Eagles have put him on IR thus ending his rookie year before it even started.

From what I've read it was always the plan for him not to play this season. He needs a year to rehab to the knee and they don't need him this year anyway, especially if they keep Lito.

Last time they did this he ended up not playing very much at all and got cut. That player being Jeremy Bloom.

Yeah, but it's smart if you think about it. For the player he has the benefit of knowing tha the has the year to rehab and get back in shape knowing that if he can and show it and prove he's worth it he'll get a shot. For the team, IF he does make it back the gamble is low risk with high reward. But then, that is a lot of "ifs".
