Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

No its not, especially when you consider that there are a small handfull of "elite" guys then the rest are pretty close to interchangeable for the most part. Finding that "elite" one woul dbe great.
An available "elite" TE is on the trade block. I think I'm on of the few that would love to see him in a Broncos uniform though.

Jeremy Shockey!!
You are correct there. Why would the Broncos sign up an elite troublesome TE like shockey. Too much money, too much drama, not enough focus on the W column.

Why would Dallas sign T.O.?
Why would NE sign Moss?
Sometimes players veiwed as troublesome just aren't a good fit with the team they're with. I don't think he's asking for the bank and I really don't think the Giants would be either.
The dude can flat out ball and he wants to win as much as anyone.

He is a great TE. Blocker and receiver. There are some questions:
What was the nature of his season ending injury and has he recovered?
Why did he choose to view the Super Bowl from a luxury box instead of on the sideline with his teammates?
What do the Giants want for him?
I agree with moose34. If the Broncos acquired Shockey of the wonderful arm tatoos, they would have the two top TEs from the '02 draft.

I would not go after another TE until 1 more injury. Too many young guns at other positions means no room for another TE on the roster. I personally just think at this point if we are short at TE then I expect my receivers to step up their blocking game....which by the way is one reason Colbert was brought to town. Shanahan loves his blocking.
maybe shanny can convert hillis into a tight end just for his rookie year so we dont have to dump so many backs before camp......i know im talkin' crazy again
I think you have a good point here. We have to see how the preseason goes, but he was an exceptional receiving fullback in college. I think he could potentially be used as an H-back in the mold of Dallas Clark, which would mean that Graham would still be the primary blocking tight end. We don't really need another tight end to be a good blocker, but we definitely need someone to emerge as the go to pass catcher.

Asuming he makes the team I think you will see him lined up as an H-Back, Z, 40 Back, in motion often.
