Grossmans other problems are the fact that he can not catch the snaps, he drops about one out of every five. His other problem is he does not know how to move out of the pocket and make a play. Wich is what a Bears QB needs to know how to do. They do not have the Colts O. Grossman sucks and now even Lovie put him on 2nd string. Ortin is there starting QB

First, I said "Urlacher/Defense", but no offense taken, people have a tendency to gloss over details when they're in a hurry to prove someone wrong.

Second, it's physically impossible for a Defensive Line and ST's to be the only reasons a team wins a single game, much less the NFC Championship.

Third, Grossman had three fumbles (Lost two) that year, so degrading him because of bobbled snaps is a bit hypocritical considering Cutler's problems in this area.

Fourth, not every QB has Michael Vicks mobility or Tom Brady's pocket sense, especially backups......

If you boil it down to whether you want Ramsey or Grossman, here's both of their career stats:

        Grossman (5yrs experience)

        54.3% completion rate
        31 TD
        33 INT
        5907 yards
        70.9 passer rating
        (10 lost fumbles)

        Ramsey (6yrs experience)

        55.9% completion rate
        35 TD
        30 INT
        5911 yards
        74.8 passer rating
        (13 lost fumbles)

I disliked Grossman a lot before looking up these stats. I still dislike him, and don't think he brings anything to the table that Ramsey does not.

That said, I have to admit I like Ramsey less than I did about 10 minutes ago...

Your fumble stats don't match up with what I'm getting from the nfl.com site. I see 8 fumbles with 5 lost that year (2006). Or am I reading the tables wrong?

I adamantly believe that. They won during the year on the back of the D, then Grossman was awful and managed to lose the Super Bowl.

I'm trying to change peoples mind, Shutdown, I'm merely making a case for a backup QB.

You believe what you want, I remember it differently......like I said, in 06 Grossman had 3 more TD's and 6 more INT's than Culter had last year, I'll just leave it at that......

                  I wouldn't give a 5th for Orton and Grossman

How about Culpepper as a back-up, he's still available.

I know he wasn't great with Miami, but i am starting to think players who have been poor for Miami should be given a break (same as Oakland players lol)

Its not that I am trying to prove someone wrong. It is just one of my pet peivs. Urlacher/LT/Paton Maning. These people do not make up that part of the team or the entire team. Sorry if you seem to think I missed your point. No I do not think it was only th D and ST that took them to the SB that year. I do believe Grossman had vary little to do with it. The personal Stats on Grossman dont show how many yard he personaly gave during each game. The guy loose at least 20 yards a game because he cant get ahold of the ball properly and instead of going strait down or finding his way out of the pocket he runs backwards. I have seen him drop back and take a 30 yard loss. My other issue with Grossman is he does not know how to work with his team. The whole team spirt thing. He is a big baby and a loner it seems most of the time. He speaks in I instead of we. I guess I just have an all around dislike of the guy. JMO. No one has to like or agree with me.
