Mlb & Rb
I don't watch much college ball until the bowls, but I'd love to grab one of the top 2 MLB's or a "threat" type RB in the 1st and 2nd rounds. I feel like we are headed in the right direction as a club, but I've had a problem with patience all my life.Ray Maualuga or James Lauranitis might not be in reach although this mock thinks so:
We're picking 8th?
Beanie Wells probably won't be available to us. Knowshaun Moreno maybe, but Shanny won't go RB that high.sigpicNow I'm not sayin OJ shoulda killed her...but I understand" -Chris Rock

I am going to assume we make it at least to the AFCC game and are picking no better than #25.
1st. Alex Mack, C - The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. We need to control the middle of the line better and Mack would give us a probowl type center who is athletic, strong, and smart. Future O Line Clady, Lich, Mack, Kuper, Harris.
2nd. Derek Pegues, FS - I think he could slip to a late 2nd given all the safeties in this class. I am not sure if I want him at FS or CB. I think he could be a great CB that is capable of getting physical in Run D. We could be losing both Paymah and Foxworth after this year.
Option 2
2nd. Captain Munnerlyn, CB- Besides the obvious desire to have a guy named "Captain", we could lose 3 CB over the next two years. I think Jack WIlliams will play slot next year, but we will need to find a replacement for Bly in 2010 IMO. I prefer CBs to get at least a year playing slot before starting.
3rd. Dannell Ellerbe, SSLB/MLB - If Boss and Larsen work out, then I am fine at LB. This guy can fill in at either spot.
Option 2
3rd. Courtney Greene, SS/FS- Will go with the versatile Greene (unless Chung drops this far).
4th. Arthur Jones, DT or Ramses Barden, WR (6'6 226 4.53 speed) At the very worse he emerges as a top TE, but 6'6 with 4.5 speed...damn! He was very productive too.
Thats it for now and I reserve the right to change my mind at any given timeLast edited by Cutler2007; 08-22-2008, 02:46 PM.

Clearly I am hoping we win the Super Bowl and have the last pick in the first round. However, here are the guys that I would most want to add to our team right now. Over the course of the season things could change, if one of our running backs really turns into a stud (high hopes for Torain) or if Niko or Nate excel at MLB it would change things.
RB
Chris Wells
Knowshon Moreno
James Davis
S
myron rolle
LB
james laurinaitis
rey maualuga
The linebackers would be my first preference, not sure which one I want more. Both are going to be outstanding. I think Wells and Moreno go before Davis does, but for some reason I just really like him. Maybe we could have a chance at him, or realistically be able to trade up. Rolle is just an extremely impressive athlete to me, I think he needs polishing but he is fun to watch. I won't go into college study mode for awhile though, so I pretty much just have big names on my list

Rey Maualuga! (Yeah right).
After that, a real 1st round talent RB......a DE or two......a DT or three......Andre Smith would be real nice......Anyone but James Lauranitis......Anything but a safety......Vontae Davis......Michael Johnson......Keiland Williams......Anything but Lauranitis or a safety......

for us to be competitive/feared on defense we need more intimidating players.
i really hope someone rey mauluga falls to us and more wishful thinking we trade a 2010 first round pick for william moore.
this way we wont spend money on a 1st round rookie in 2010 and we can spend it on b-marsh/doom/schf

Clemson's Jame Davis?
But I hope James Davis's stock drops because of a bad senior year so Denver can snag him in the second round. He was one of my hopefuls for the 2008 NFL draft when he announced he was declaring. He was definately going to be in Denver's reach. But hoepfully we get another chance in 2009.
